Please stop adding links to your website with content stolen from Wikipedia! If you want to become a licensed mirror then start with this page. --Denniss 02:46, 30 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi Denniss,

Can you please tell me how do I stole content from Wikipedia? Aircraft is an old hobby of mine and the http://www.aircraft-list.com is an image gallery, not a description website. The description is only for the curious people who wants to read more.
If I was to stole the content, I wouldn't put links back to the wikipedia page, right?
What can I do?
Thank you
Best wishes
Sorin

Every text you find here on the Wikipedia is licensed under GFDL so you can't copy it one-by-one for free, there are several requirements to do this. Just linking back to Wikipedia is not enough as for example, the text on your website must be licensed under GFDL, too. You should find lots of info in the given links above. --Denniss 05:20, 31 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thank you Denniss for your continued help :D
So, if I'm right, if I put this text "All text is available under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License. (See Copyrights for details.) " on the bottom of every page with content taken from Wikipedia all should be ok, right?
Best regards
Sorin

I have added this page : http://www.aircraft-list.com/copyright.html
Thank you
Sorin

www.aircraft-list.com edit

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did in Antonov An-225‎. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.. You are in clear violation of WP:EL#Advertising_and_conflicts_of_interest --TAG 20:42, 17 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Why do you delete the links to www.aircraft-list.com Image Gallery? If it is indeed ads-related, why , let's take this as an example ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonov_An-225#External_links : links to airpics.com (there are a lot of links to this domain from a lot of aircraft pages, if you want to see i can show you some examples), aircraft-info.com are up? Are those your websites? Are you there webmaster? Please revert your changes in 24h. Thanks, Have a nice Sunday --Nekhbet 10:30, 18 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
I've clearly specified reasons - read WP:EL#Advertising_and_conflicts_of_interest. Your airpics.com example is wrong. Pictures to airpics are uploaded by their original photographers, in contrast - you have specified that your source is Google and Yahoo images search. This violate WP:C#Linking_to_copyrighted_works "If you know that an external Web site is carrying a work in violation of the creator's copyright, do not link to that copy of the work". --TAG 08:56, 18 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Sorry to reply late, I was trying to write few words about "Bucharest Bible of 1688". The airpics.com example may be wrong but the other aren't. On the web site few people already expressed their copyright and a notice was added below their image (ex:http://www.aircraft-list.com/db/images/Antonov_An-225/9392/) . I think that this web site is helping the people and it is really useful (I can show you at least 20-25 messages of 'Thank you' from the visitors of the web site) . Please revert your changes. Hope to hear soon from you. Thanks —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Nekhbet (talkcontribs).
I'm not going to support your project. Why ? Because if you anybody have access to freely accessible images he is welcome to post them on http://commons.wikipedia.org. As well - Wikipedia is not links collections - there is no way (and no reasons) to include all valuable links in articles. For adding links go to DMoz or Yahoo! Directory --TAG 09:15, 18 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Then remove all the links, not just only from aircraft-list.com. Why do you protect them? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Nekhbet (talkcontribs).
Please specify those links and Wikipedia policies they violate and those will be removed. I'm consistent in my edits. --TAG
One example : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SR-71_Blackbird#External_links , "SR-71 Blackbird Wallpaper", why it is useful? This is just an example, one in the sea of so many. I still hope that you understand that instead of deleting others work you can do something useful. I, for example, try to write a lot of stubs(articles in the near future) about Romanian history. I will undo your changes for the 'External Reference' sections.
Please read inclusion of one spam link is not a reason to include another. Any your attempt to readd links will be considered as vandalism and you will be banned. --TAG
Another disscusion about this subject : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:TAG.Odessa#Why_are_you_deleting_the_external_links.3F Nekhbet 06:53, 19 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did in F4F Wildcat. It is considered spamming, and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising. Thanks. --TAG 07:27, 19 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Not appropriate to link your website. edit

Hello, I have reviewed the discussion above between you and TAG.Odessa. While I appreciate you're trying to help in some way, these links don't add anything new or useful to the encyclopedia, you see. (And we're writing an encyclopedia).

Even so, thank you very much, we do appreciate the thought, and look forward to any additions of encyclopedic content you may wish to make. --Kim Bruning 13:36, 20 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ok, no problem. I promise that I won't mention from now anything about www.aircraft-list.com here on wikipedia. Best regards Nekhbet 16:34, 20 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
