Hi there, I was Sales Manager and part designer for Keesonic Speakers over a long period.

I'm still alive(obviously!) and so is Peter Keeley, the owner and designer , and I visit and talk to him on weekly basis.

Setting the record straight. Keesonic did indeed fold in the 80's. I can set the record straight in that it was a victim of a main trade customer pulling out of investment, or more accurately, not paying the account due, and —not because of poor accounting! I can also tell you that 'over engineering' was not a reason for failure- the Keesonic Kub was designed to compete in the highly competitive Bookshelf Loudspeaker market, and in particular the 'Videoton Minimax,' a Hungarian Loudspeaker,- all the rage until we came along!

There were may other 'inventions' and products manuactured including a speaker for 'Boots' (the high street chain)and Peter also designed monitors for the professional sound industry, which found their way into OB Vans, prestigous recording studios, record companies, and not least a certain venerable instution we all pay license money too today! He has also engineered a number of albums for a well known arranger and producer.

Richard Coles. Sales Manager 1975- 1984
