Kala Khel is a sub-clan of Adam Khel,Which is a sub-tribe of Afridi tribe.Kala Khel also called a sub-clan of Tirah Adam khel.Adam Khel sub_tribe divided into two sections.The one is called Darra Adam Khel and the other is Tirah Adam khel.Kala Khel is further divided into 4 sub-sections like (1,Babar Khel 2,Marsid Khel 3,Dader Khel and 4,Karmo Khel). Kala Khel QOOM is situate in google map at33'43'24.00"N 71'34'21.27" E elevation 2000 ft above sea level. Kala Khel which is also called QOOM Kala Khel situated on the border of Peshawar towrads south and in Tirah Valley.The border area of Peshawar known is FR Peshawar a semi-tribal area under the Peshawar DC.the DC of Peshawar look after the matters of the other Sub-clans of Adam Khel like Ali Khel,Bora,Kandawo and Hasan khel etc.except Kala khel.PA Khyber Agency is the head administrator of the Kala Khel,because it's presence in Tirah Valley.Some families of Kala Khel migrate to Tirah Valley to avoid the harsh and hot weather of the FR Peshawar during the moths of May-Aug.Half of Kala Khel tribe resides permanently in Tirah Valley.Some of them also migrate below to FR Peshawar's Kala Khel QOOM to avoid cold weather during the months of Dec-Feb.Education is a necessary thing in modern era,to achieve this goal the government has set up 5 primary and 1 high school for boys and 3 girls schools one of them is high school.One BHU(basic health unit)also working to solve the health problems of the Kala Khel QOOM.The population is estimated about 10,000.Wheat,Maize,sugar-cane and different kinds of vegetables are grown here.A huge reservoir of coal has been discovered in recent past.Mining is under way to exploit this natural resource.Literacy rate is reasonable of male.However girls literacy rate is not appreciable.An Amn committee of the Kala Khel QOOM is on move to establish peace in the QOOM Kala Khel.Recently Kala Khel QOOM was at war with neighbor tribes of Ali Khel and Pridee.
