It's not showing as live with a search; is there some sort of "hold" that needs to be removed from the article? Please inform. Thanks, 8bitmonkey

Mincom

Hi, You have moved the Mincom article but did not state where. I am unable to find any text relating to the Mincom article when searching on the term 'Mincom'. can you repair this? Mincom now requires a disambiguation page to link to both articles. Thanks Rimmeraj 05:08, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

I split the company into an article called Mincom Ltd. That article seems to be gone, but I didn't delete it. NawlinWiki 14:36, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

Hi again, Can you repair the damage? In particular we will need a disambiguation page so that any one looking for the company Mincom will be able to find the right article. Thanks Rimmeraj 05:40, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

Reverting Vandalism at Red Scare

When cleaning up vandalism, please make sure the version you revert to is clean. In this case there had been two vandal edits (by different users), and you only reverted the more recent one. Narge 16:40, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

Vandalism, when?

NawlinWi,. I'm letting you know I have never vandalized any article or stubb, and that any editing done by me has for a long while been only that of correcting grammar or misspelled words. Although I should point out that the last edit I made was to the article on Bong, where someone else had vandalized the page with a link to pornography. If you by any means believe my actions to be that of vandalism, then I invite you to take a look at the history of the article and the link itself. -I b pip 23:4?, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

+After closer inspeciton I realized that I had forgotten to simply revert the page to a clean version. Although I had neglected to do this, I believe that your 'vandalism warning' was unwarranted and unnecessary. I'd like you to remove the warning if possible, I would but that in itself is considered vandalism. -I b pip 23:49, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

++I am officially confused about UTC now. Thankfully I have wikipedia to help!

Would you mind letting me know why you removed all the resource links posted from 67.103.169.42. I think the posts were reverted last night around 9pm. The links are not commercial and do not link to a commercial site. The links I've posted send Wikipedia users to the site for one of the most respected not-for-profits in the country, the American Academy of Achievement. The site honors achievers from every corner of the world and features extensive resources. All of them include photo galleries, video interviews, achiever bios and profiles, as well as printed interviews. Each achiever has been inducted into the American Academy of Achievement as a member.

What steps do I need to take so that I can continue with adding resources and not be labelled a "spammer?" Also, how can I go about retrieving the links I've already added? I can contribute to the content if needed. 67.103.169.42 18:45, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for your input.

I would welcome the opportunity to add content to each of these sites for achievers.

Is there a possibility of adding a "famous quotes" section to each site, adding quotes featured in Academy of Achievement interviews? How would I do this in a technical sense?

To add a quotes section, would I have to obtain permission from the editor of each site? If so, how do I do this?

Also, by adding content, will I then be able to add the external links to the Academy? Would I have to limit them to just the interview and photo gallery links, or can I still link to the biography and profile pages as well?

I know this is a lot of questions, but I am new to this process and don't want to step on any toes.

The Achievement website is a great resource and would act as a valuable supplemental tool for people wanting to access additional information.

Thanks for your time.

Best,

Sara Berlin451 21:28, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

Unencyclopedic Trivia?

Please point me to where you found this phrase. I fail to see how the trivia I added to the Al Gore entry was unencyclopedic. In fact, it's a quite interesting and unique piece of trivia. Go ahead and make your case on Gore's talk page, so we can have this discussion in one place. --No Dodo 00:38, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

The correct way to deal with something like that is to revert back to the pre-blanked article. If the user is an ongoing vandal then you can leave a message at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. If I thought that the article would have met one of the speedy critera then I would have deleted right away rather than putting it in AfD. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 20:59, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

Subst

When using template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:test}} instead of {{test}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. --Cyde Weys 01:32, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

I have removed the {{prod}} tag from The Marshes, which you proposed for deletion. I am leaving this message here to notify you about it. I disagree that this band is non-notable by the WP:MUSIC guideline. They have multiple records with Dr. Strange records (see [3]), which doesn't seem like a one-band label or vanity or anything like that. If you still feel the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to it. Instead, feel free to list the article at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! I went ahead and removed the template you put on the Special X page due to the fact that it is a notable radio channel. It is not totally defunct, and still is a hot topic among XM Satellite Radio subscribers.

BikeShare

Hi,

I wanted to let you know that I've removed the prod tag for this article. I've stated my reasoning on the article's talk page. I have no objection to taking it to AfD (I'll even post it if you'd like), but my opinion is that it's notable enough. If you change your mind and have no objection to keeping it, let me know and I'll go ahead and finish wikifying it. ScottW 00:40, 25 May 2006 (UTC)

Ok, I'll see what I can do to clean it up and add in appropriate references. If I'm feeling ambitious enough, I may actually change the article into the general concept rather than the specific campus program. I have a few other things I'm working on, so it'll be a few days before I get to it, but I'll let you know when I'm done. ScottW 03:10, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
After looking into the topic a little more, I've proposed that this article be merged with list_of_community_bike_programs and redirected to Community_bicycle_program. See the article's talk page for details. ScottW 16:11, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

I saw you categorised the Jim Crowley and James Emanuel articles from bluebot's page. For articles about people, could you also add the year of birth and the year of death category. Motorex3

Sorry, AIV is for cases of very clear and blatant vandalism, and for users that need to be blocked after having been warned sufficiently (with a bv, test3, or test4).

I suggest telling him not to blank the AfD and instead add his thoughts to the AfD you are adding. I don't see sufficient warning in Motorex3's tak page, but in addition to using the test tags, you really should warn him that removing the AfD headers is the same as vandalism. --Deathphoenix ʕ 16:02, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

In any case, the article has been speedy-deleted as a hoax page, so you don't have to worry about tagging it for AfD anymore. If Motorex3 keeps recreating it, we'll do stuff like protect it from recreation. :-) --Deathphoenix ʕ 16:04, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

To anyone else who happens to read this - I can assure you that NawlinWiki was actually reverting the anonymous IP's vandalism. Do not consider this a real warning. --Bachrach44 14:02, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

Any edit which is not designed to improve the quality of the encyclopedia is vandalism. WP:VAND Also includes "Uploading provocative images" under image vandalism. --Bachrach44 14:12, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

The edits do improve the quality of the encyclopedia by providing a screenshot of Alicia Alighatti in action, as many other pages on actors and movies do. It is not for you to decide whether or not the image should be deleted, only the rules of wikipedia can dictate that. Your peronsal grudges against deemable offensive images are irrelevent. If you cannot handle viewing the image, then do not go to that page (what do you expect on a porn actress's page?). There are thousands more offensive images on wikipedia that are not deleted and legitimately exist. Please give this image the same amount of opportunity and respect as any other. The intention is not to be purposely offensive, but as stated, to provide insight on Alicia Alighatti. Remember the three-revert rule, and cease reverting. Clever curmudgeon 19:29, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

You reverted an edit made by User:MniK adding more information to Alicia Alighatti. This is not the first user's edits that you have reverted so please refrain from further childish vandalism. Clever curmudgeon 19:31, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

You have reverted an edit that involved adding an image to the Aurora Snow page. Do not revert other users' edits again for no reason. Just because you find pornographic imagse offensive does not mean that they do not belong on wikipedia. The picture involves insight to Aurora Snow's filmography, and should be left where it is. Clever curmudgeon 19:33, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

I noticed you deleted an entire conversation on User talk:Bachrach44. Do not edit conversations that do not concern you and are not on your user talk page. Please left other users' talk pages alone and end your wave of childish vandalism. Clever curmudgeon 19:36, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

Ben Franklin High School

Hi, I noticed you created this article and did most of the work on it. One line which struck me as kind of weird was "It is commonly referred to as "Ben Franklin" to distinguish it from Franklin High School in Franklin, Louisiana." It is true that it is commonly referred to as "Ben Franklin", no question, but sometimes I've heard people say "Franklin", but in any case I don't think there has been any confusion with Franklin, La. To be honest, I never heard of Franklin in my life until a few years ago when someone I knew moved there, and I would daresay that few New Orleanians have heard of it, and for even fewer would there be any confusion over the meaning of Franklin when discussing education. Just my two cents, though. -- Deville (Talk) 14:55, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

Regarding the article Attack of the Twonkies (film), which you tagged for speedy deletion with the reason "patent nonsense", I wanted you to know that I have removed the speedy deletion tag. This article does not qualify for speedy deletion because it is not patent nonsense. Patent nonsense is either a random assortment of characters, such as qowe4i6t8uq309ugjlsakdwemgpo2q43rweuitykj, or words that are so confused that nobody could make sense of them, like "how read box blue yellow tissues water stone chicken". You'll be delighted to hear that, imo, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Flippiperazine does come within a speedy criteria, specifically:

Very short articles providing little or no context (e.g., "He is a funny man that has created Factory and the Hacienda. And, by the way, his wife is great."). Limited content is not in itself a reason to delete if there is enough context to allow expansion.

The expansion clause would be unlikely to apply here... in any case... <flush>... it's gone ;) Deizio talk 01:49, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

Good work on the page. As I'm sure you've noticed, a few extremely ardent Limbaugh fans will tolerate nothing on the article page that paints Limbaugh in less than a flattering light. Some of these same editors are blanking the Palm Beach incident at will, and attempting to game the system on the Talk Page. Ah, well... we've seen this before. There's an RFC on the Talk page now, where people are voting as to whether to keep the airport detention incident in the article. You may want to stop by and vote. Eleemosynary 23:09, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks from KWUR

Thanks for the addition. We appreciate continued contact and interest from our DJs of the past!

Yes. Thanks you for your addition, I would love to hear more about U2/KWUR from 1980! JohnKlax 19:53, 13 July 2006 (UTC), current KWUR GM.

Re: Tokeville nonsense

I suspect sockpuppetry and have been blocking accordingly, see [5].

It appears quite obvious that the users re-creating a nearly identical stub are sockpuppets of banned user Dschor. — Jul. 7, '06 [16:45] <freak|talk>

Rochdale F.C. category

Have moved the players in that category to the Rochdale A.F.C. category where they should have been. May as well delete the category, but I don't know how to start the process. Markspearce 18:50, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Venture the Void

Hi. Could you list the specific Wikipedia:Deletion policy criteria you believe the article meets, for the record, in the nomination? I am reasonably sure that the first comment's list is the same as what you intended, but it would help if you made them explicit. Thanks. Georgewilliamherbert 21:29, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for adding that to the nomination. Georgewilliamherbert 22:00, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

about KBIT FM

Hi, Nawlins. The problem with the article is that the station doesn't actually exist. Please note that it's has been listed for deletion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/KBIT FM. Please also note that it's the second radio station hoax article this editor has created. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/KWLD -- Mikeblas 03:36, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

No worries. I just wanted to make sure you knew the whole story. -- Mikeblas 03:39, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

Zidane

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a blog or an AP feed. As such, an image of Zidane receiving a red card is not notable enough to be inserted in the article, especially when there is only one other image of him (which is isolated in the infobox). One cannot reasonably expect to see an image of Zidane's headbutt when one does not see images of him at award's banquets when he is receiving FIFA Player of the Year honours or UEFA's Best Footballer of the Past 50 Years. One must put things in perspective. And by the way, the lead story is Italy's victory ;) hoopydinkConas tá tú? 22:25, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

Rory Demetrioff

Why would you deny people from Canada to have access to researching this individual. He appears on the government of Ontario and Government of Canada registry for active lobbyists. I think this needs to be opened up to a wider discussion. How can that take place. Also, it should be encouraged to review already public information on google and on the government of Ontario Integrity Commission website at: http://lobbyist.oico.on.ca/Integrity/RegistrationGeneral.nsf/PublicFramesWeb?OpenPage

Also, a number of collegues also have entries in Wikipedia including: Leslie Noble, Deb Hutton, Gerald Caplan, Ian Brodie, Rod Love

Why is this individual singled out? Perhaps he is not in the right category on wikipedia?

Thank you for your help and insight.

Glifted AfD

I have speedy reopened the Glifted AfD because CSD A7 appears to be invalid in this case - they satisfy WP:MUSIC as having members who were formerly from another notable group. Regards, Kimchi.sg 04:07, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

LowtaxNetwork

Why remove informational sites from informational webpages??? Will you please look at the links added and tell me they are not right for the subjects! Not advertising, we provide information for people just like wikipedia. Material is purely reference material!

Uncat

How come you removed the uncat template from Elizabeth Green the Stork Woman? Check out similar articles, they mostly have 5+ categories. 1 is hardly sufficient. Stevage 23:20, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

  • My practice is to remove the uncat tag when there's even one category (other than birth and death years). Otherwise, it's too hard to know which items on the uncat list need work. NawlinWiki 23:24, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
    • Mmm, not a good practice imho. The tag is there to say "this page needs more categories". Removing it is, well, totally unhelpful. Stevage 06:03, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

AFD

Hi! I've recently put the article Dub Piece up for deletion, on thr gorunds that it's non-notable, and most probably created by the same people who created the videos. I'd appreciate your vote on the matter, either way (of course), at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dub Piece. Thanks! HawkerTyphoon 02:54, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

Never saw that before.

Sorry, I never saw that I could do that before, thanks for pointing that out.
