A2 milk

Hi, I saw your Teahouse post. I found an article that explains that cows in France give A2 milk. "In other parts of the world, France, for example, milk comes from Jersey, Guernsey, and Normande cows. These cows produce only one beta-casein protein in their milk—the A2 variety." It doesn't do a good job of explaining why French cows are different -- just some hand-wavey stuff about strict guidelines. Schazjmd (talk) 15:47, 1 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for showing me this interesting article Schazjmd. I'm genuinely interested to know if there is a real difference in French milk, because I've always found that French cheeses often taste so much better than cheeses from other countries. But I agree - the article doesn't provide any sources, and I suspect its claims are exaggerated. I have read scientific research saying that MOST milk from Jersey and Guernsey cows is A2, but that they produce significant amounts of A1 milk too. Natubat (talk) 19:04, 1 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
