I would start off by having a header as to what you will be talking about. It gives the reader an idea as to what they will be reading.

In the first sentence you state, "The publication of the 2003 paper," state the name of the paper. And instead of saying it was a blow from the past, state "previously his research said this but it was changed by x, y, z." Be more specific in the first sentence. Then you state another paper he wrote with his colleague, state the name of the paper and his colleague.

It also seems like you wrote from three different sources try to connect them, because it seems like you're jumping between topics from a different source.
