Conversion of coordinates

edit

I've shown you on the article page how coordinates can be displayed. I've used the following process to do so:

  • Open Google Maps
  • Paste the coordinates as you had them into the search bar and click 'Search Maps'
  • Click on 'Link' on the top right of the map and paste the HTML code into a text editor (e.g. Notepad) (<iframe width="425" height="350" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="http://maps.google.co.nz/maps?client=firefox-a&hl=en&q=S+35+13'01.4+E+173+57'46.6&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=14&ll=-35.217488,173.962296&output=embed"></iframe><br /><small><a href="http://maps.google.co.nz/maps?client=firefox-a&hl=en&q=S+35+13'01.4+E+173+57'46.6&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=14&ll=-35.217488,173.962296&source=embed" style="color:#0000FF;text-align:left">View Larger Map</a></small>)
  • Get the coordinates from that link by grabbing the part after ll=

I hope this helps. Schwede66 21:04, 9 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
