Galleries are not considered to give a good look to articles, but do not bother about these nitty gritties. Add in the image and it will surely be incorporated at some point of time. That image is wonderful by the way but it goes into Malabar Barbet :) . Shyamal (talk) 05:38, 7 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Ok, I will stay away from that for now! :) I did see in Grimskipp that it was M.r.malabarica but did not realize that there was a different section for just that. I understand that whoever works on the article at a later point of time can incorporate the images appropriately into it. --Nanda ramesh (talk) 05:56, 7 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Image edit

You can add images regardless of whether it is a stub or not. If there are multiple images you can place them inside a <gallery> File:myFile.jpg</gallery> block. That will be noticed by those who watchlist the article and folks like me will get interested in fleshing out the article. Uploading to commons.wikimedia.org is the norm. You have done well with the swimming articles. Shyamal (talk) 14:35, 24 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Have expanded Mottled Wood Owl, it is amazing how little has been written about them. Turns out that it is nearly endemic to India political. Shyamal (talk) 11:51, 27 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Photos edit

Hi Nanda, when you find an article lacking a photograph and if you wish to add one, you can just go ahead and upload the image on Wikimedia commons and add a [[Image:BirdPic.jpg|thumb]] entry into the appropriate wikipedia article (here in the English language Wikipedia or indeed any other language Wikipedia - the commons ensures that it does not need to be duplicated) - or into the taxobox template at the top of the page as a |image= BirdPic.jpg parameter entry. Note that Wikipedia is not really dependent on editors, it just grows over time and hopefully well beyond our lifetimes. Those who have included the article in the watchlist (and are interested in that article) will of course know that it has been edited, so an edit comment that "an image has been added" would be enough. Even if an article has images, your new image may add a new facet like feeding behaviour, habitat or plumage variation. Do include the locality, date and other information in the description of the file when uploading to Wikimedia commons. Shyamal (talk) 08:03, 13 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Worked up Wilson's Storm Petrel recently - wonder if you would like to give it some colour :) Shyamal (talk) 03:56, 28 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Sure, with pleasure. Later today or tomorrow for sure. Nanda ramesh (talk) 04:36, 28 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Superb!! Layout looks fine, just placed in a zig-zag as suggested in the Manual of style. Have knocked off the archaic Audubon picture in favour of your image. Shyamal (talk) 12:45, 29 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
