thanks

  Greetings NSLE,
I wish to offer my gratitude supporting me on my recent nomination for adminship, which passed with the final tally of 65/4/3. If you would ever desire my assistance in anything, or wish to give me feedback on any actions I take, feel free to let me know. Cheers! Would it be possible you move the page Hurricane Paul (1982) to Hurricane Paul? That would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance. Hurricanehink 22:12, 1 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Reverting?

I don't think that this was a good use of rollback. That edit was to his own userspace and not vandalism almost by definition. You explained on his talk page, but should have used an edit summary instead of admin-powers. Tread lightly. -Splashtalk 00:22, 2 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Amount of Edits

With regards to your comment about my comment for Pgk's RfA, I just wanted to let you know that I know edits don't mean everything. I was just saying, "Hot damn, that's a lot of edits," because hot damn, that guy's got a lot of edits in a small amount of time. I have other reasons for the support, but most of them were already stated. Thanks :-), JHMM13 (T | C)     01:59, 2 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Spanish People

I do have sources. read the talk page on the Germanic section. Please do not accuse me of not having sources for my claims. Thanks (24.60.161.63 05:41, 2 January 2006 (UTC))Reply

Anyways here are my "objective" sources:

What? what are you talking about I just gave the sources you oh so wanted. (24.60.161.63 05:57, 2 January 2006 (UTC))Reply

Ok i see what you mean. lol I just think hes trying to get his point of view across becuase i just got two other encylocopedias that are very creditable saying this information and other wikipedia pages say the same information.(24.60.161.63 06:01, 2 January 2006 (UTC))Reply

Thanks for the support though i apperricate it. =) (24.60.161.63 06:02, 2 January 2006 (UTC))Reply

Okay well the guy added a Citeation thing its not really need has he provided his sources or no? If not please do something to resolve this without having to single out Spaniards of course on the list.(24.60.161.63 06:25, 2 January 2006 (UTC))Reply

Why are you reverting my talk page?

?

okay but why cant i delete things with that dont have to do with warnings?

Okay what with the sockpuppet thing? wow are you trying to pick on me or something? (24.60.161.63 06:13, 2 January 2006 (UTC))Reply

You cant put that on there that block was unjust i had it repealed. (24.60.161.63 06:16, 2 January 2006 (UTC))Reply

But thats not fair because i was blocked by an unfair user and the admin even said so. So your telling me because this guy picked on me you gave me this tag? (24.60.161.63 06:21, 2 January 2006 (UTC))Reply

Welcome to Esperanza!

Welcome, NSLE/Archive 4, to Esperanza, the Wikipedia member association! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.

Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is the StressUnit, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. Redwolf24 runs the spam to keep members up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.

In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Possibles.

I encourage you to take an active voice in the running of Esperanza. We have a small government system, headed by our Administrator general, Celestianpower, and guided by the Advisory Committee comprised of FireFox, Flcelloguy, Titoxd, and Karmafist. The next set of elections will be in February, and I would be glad to see you vote, or even consider running for a position.

If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Celestianpower by email or talk page or the Esperanza talk page. Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work! --Celestianpower háblame 11:06, 2 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Little advice

Sorry to bother you, but I think I've done something stupid. Yesterday I added some stuff to the article Mediterranean tropical cyclone, but the only sources I have are satellite images. Because it is more or less original research, should I remove everything I wrote in the article, link to where the satellite images can be found, or something else? And if I have to remove everything (I would be upset but I'll understand) could I keep it on my User page? Thanks in advance. Hurricanehink 12:40, 6 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I moved it to a subpage of mine, and removed everything on the main page that I added. Sorry I added some original research to an article, and I hope to not do it again. 141.150.185.226 16:15, 6 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Juro's RfA

I reverted your removal of Juro's RfA because failure to answer questions is not a reason for removal. Failure to accept a nomination is, but it is up to the nominee if they want to answer the questions or not. This policy changed some weeks ago. All the best, --Durin 00:56, 7 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Block of User:SuperButchBitch

Hi, I was browsing the block list and I saw this block, by you (NSLE (talk · contribs · blocks · protections · deletions · page moves · rights · RfA)) for "inappropriate username": Is this really necessary? And has her IP been blocked too so she can't even create a new account? I don't know her but this seems well, a bit over the top. There isn't any attempt visible by you to talk to the user or explain that she may be blocked first either, from what I can see.

I added Template:UsernameBlocked to the user page as there was no message, notice or warning left by you about her block.

I would like to point out that the username is not insulting anyone and "butch" is likely in context of butch and femme than anything else. --Mistress Selina Kyle (Α⇔Ω ¦ ⇒✉) 12:44, 7 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Eddie and Images

Common sense says that sort of "please do not abuse, please report abusinve uses" is probably OK in the image description page, as long as it's not part of the licence; it's an optional request that doesn't affect legal rights. I've moved it out of the ==licensing== section; perhaps that suffices? —Bunchofgrapes (talk) 06:48, 8 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re: AFD votes

Your AFD votes to move into user subpages many advertisement articles will definitely attract opposes to any future RFA as it shows you don't understand policy here. I suggest you STOP encouraging people to archive advertisement articles into perwsonal subpages. NSLE (T+C) 01:14, 11 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fine, only if You stop complaning about it and make peace and move on, I'll just vote "delete" to get rid of them. Archiving is up the the page creator. I'm not stupid and I don't like being taken for a fool. -- Eddie 02:55, 11 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

No, Eddie, Wikipedia is not a soapbox for advertising. Thta is the point Im making. NSLE (T+C) 03:12, 11 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Then I'll just vote delete on ad articles, would that make You happy? -- Eddie 03:14, 11 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

personal attacks

Given you are running for arbcom, and nobody appointed you "remover of personal attacks," I find it troubling that you are taking it upon yourself to modify others' comments, and define what is and is not acceptable. Have you considered that you have actually made more edits to user talk and project space than you have to articles? And of the articles that you edit, you've averaged 3 edits per? I think you've lost sight (or never had it to begin with) of what the project is aiming to do. You seem to have taken up a political campaign, policing other users and pages, rather than actually contributing to the wikipedia. Of course, the first rule in a witch hunt is to always accuse your detractors of being witches. So I won't be offended if you call this a personal attack. However, it is my hope that the voice of reason in you will actually see some logic to the above, and maybe inspire you to head out to random pages, finding things to do. Or maybe even find a research project to take up on your own, and write a superb article on it. Avriette 02:34, 14 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sorry to bother you, but if you know Freestylefrappe, could you please ask him/her to give me some kind of explanation about the 24-hour block he/she placed on me? The stated reason (suspected sockpuppet) didn't make any sense, as the user doing the sockpuppeting has been here about ten days, while I've been here about eight months. I have politely asked FSF for an explanation on his Talk page, but he won't respond and just deletes the questions. I only want to know what was going on. Thanks. Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Lulu of the Lotus-Eaters

I was surprised to read your oppose vote. I am wondering if you'd be willing to clarify for me what issues you have? And let me know if there's anything I could do to help answer them?

Is your concern entirely that you believe WP:AUTO should be policy rather than only a guideline? I admit (and explain somewhat in my RfA) that I feel that this is overused even as a guideline. Still, as a reason to oppose, this would have you vote against adminship for Jimbo Wales, Angela Beesley, Larry Sanger or Alan Cox on the same basis. Actually, while Category:Wikipedian autobiography is very incomplete, I doubt that nearly any active Wikipedian who is also notable in the "outside world" would pass by such a standard. Ruling out anyone who is worth having an article on from adminship is, I guess, something I would oppose pretty strongly—so I guess one thing I cannot do to reassure you is promise not to edit the article on me, since I just don't endorse that principle. I can certainly promise not to violate WP:NOR or WP:NPOV should I make such edits (which I may or may not; I'm not planning on editing the page on me, per se), but then I guess I would promise that for any article I might work on. Lulu of the Lotus-Eaters 15:40, 18 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ditto on that. Just to let you know mate, Lulu has helped me out of several scrapes such as you have done in the past. He's definately a scrape helper outer, and as you and I have seen in the past, we've got alot of situations like that around here. Karmafist 04:30, 19 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thanks a lot for blocking my bot who went nuts last night (my timezone at least). It was an old bug with local variables/global variables which got exponsed when I did some cosmetic changes last night which should not have caused problems.

The bot won't touch up RFA's until I am sure that everything is fixed. Once its block expires, it will go on doing its business in other areas where there are no bugs. Sorry for causing you trouble, and again, thanks for your response. Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 16:54, 23 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re; Navbars

Not sure what you mean...are you saying that, like, the Talk:2K5AHS should have a link to Talk:2K6AHS? The main reason I did two navbars for the Southern Hemisphere 05-06 is because it's one article for two years (05-06), whereas all the other articles are only one year. I think I could figure a way to make the Talk:2K5AHS > Talk:2K6AHS idea work. -- RattleMan 01:39, 24 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

The main problem with linking to the multiples is how to do it while still making it look visually appealing. I'm thinking, either have multiple links inside one word (like your name in sigs, the NS links to your userpage, while the LE links to Wikipedia:Esperanza), or have +/- signs which link to the correct page...confusing... -- RattleMan 01:57, 24 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Your user page

You asked for suggestions on your user page. Well, I gave it a try at User:NSLE/NewPage.

I did not change much. Some formatting only. I did a lot of trimming though. I believe your page has way too much stuff, and not all of it is important. For example:

  • Userboxes are ugly. Better write a paragraph about yourself.
  • The links to sandbox could be on a subpage.
  • The signpost may not be so essential.
  • Some of the links are not so relevant.
  • The sections better be ==Section== than ===Section===

No, I don't expect you to adopt my changed page, but again, my main point is that by cutting things, and possibly moving things to subpages, your page could look nicer. Cheers, Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 03:15, 24 January 2006 (UTC)Reply
