Map of US bases

edit

Hi ! I am afraid that the map yo uuploaded at Image:Troopmap.jpg is incorrect: there have been no US troops or bases permently stationed in France since the 60s. I would advise extreme caution in the use of this map (like use it only if this mistake itself has to be illustrated). Else, we migh consider removing it outright to make sure that noone uses it by mistake. Thanks ! Rama 07:38, 29 May 2005 (UTC)Reply

Awesome userpage... We haven't interacted yet, but seeing your interests, you might find this page on the VfD interesting. [1] This is an article on a Democratic organization affliated with the socialist United for Peace and Justice umbrella. While I doubt that you are too impressed by the Democratic Party in the U.S., perhaps you may be interested in voting to keep this article, as it is the only organ of one of the two mainstream parties in this country officially taking on a progressive, socialist orientation. (The vote's real close now so I'm looking for support.) Thanks. JMaxwell 19:00, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Interesting. When I hear about things like this it reminds me of this passage from the Manifesto: "Just as, therefore, at an earlier period, a section of the nobility went over to the bourgeoisie, so now a portion of the bourgeoisie goes over to the proletariat, and in particular, a portion of the bourgeois ideologists, who have raised themselves to the level of comprehending theoretically the historical movement as a whole." Still, remaining in the Democratic Party means that they cannot reject bourgeois roles and values entirely, even if they want to. I wouldn't expect much out of them, but it might be interesting to find out what they're doing a few years down the road. NEW WORLD ORDER 20:14, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)
