Some false positives you may be interested in

edit

Hello! I installed your script and gave it a test run on a random large article I had open, United States. The script reported 314 possible eggs, and I took a look at a few random results. I found some false positives that all appeared as highest probability (🐤) that you might be interested in; I'll wikilink them here so you can repro them easily:

  • G20 links to a redirect page that does not have the exact token "G20" present, but does have "G-20". The redirect leads to G20 which does have plenty of matches.
  • corn links to maize which has "corn" in the very first sentence. Since it's a common practice to add synonyms in the first sentence, and usually add them in bold, maybe that could be detected?
  • displacing Native Americans links to Indian removal which has "Native Americans" in the first sentence.
  • death penalty links to Capital punishment in the United States which has 308 instances of "death penalty".

You do mention in your doc that false positives will happen, and my main reason for this feedback is that these were marked as highly probable, which will likely be the first things that editors look for on a page with hundreds of hits like this one. Thanks for the script! Orange Suede Sofa (talk) 23:42, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
