My concern about your username
editHello, N00bh4ck3r, and welcome to Wikipedia!
I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?
I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.
You have several options freely available to you:
- If you can relieve my concern through discussing it here, I can stop worrying about it.
- If the two of us can't agree here, we can ask for help through Wikipedia's dispute resolution process, such as asking for a "third opinion", or requesting comments from other Wikipedians. Wikipedia administrators usually abide by agreements reached through this process.
- You can keep your contributions history under a new username. Visit Wikipedia:Changing username and follow the guidelines there.
Let me reassure you that my writing here means I don't think your username is grossly, blatantly, or obviously inappropriate; such names get reported straight to Wikipedia:Usernames for administrator attention or blocked on sight. This is more a case where opinions might differ, and it would be good to reach some consensus — either here or at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/User names. So I look forward to a friendly discussion, and to enjoying your continued participation on Wikipedia. Thank you. SalaSkan 15:12, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
Chart positions
editBefore adding chart positions to Wikipedia articles, please consider if the chart originates from a significant and notable enough world music market for inclusion. For more information, please read Wikipedia:Record charts. Thanks. Extraordinary Machine 19:56, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
Duplicate images uploaded
editThanks for uploading Image:Falco 3 cover.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:07-03-08 2226.jpg. The copy called Image:07-03-08 2226.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.
This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot (talk) 22:00, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Falco 3 cover.jpg
editThank you for uploading Image:Falco 3 cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr If you've written a quality article... 20:56, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
Ewald Stadler
editHi, N00bh4ck3r. Thanks for your edits on the Ewald Stadler article. I have been unable to find a confirmation that Stadler has a seat in the EP. The website of the EP[1] only lists 17 members for Austria still. Can you provide a reference to confirm that Stadler has officially won a seat? Thx. --Chonak (talk) 02:51, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
Like you can see he gets the seat in the same way like Amelia Andersdotter from the Swedish Pirate Party : http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_der_Mitglieder_des_7._Europ%C3%A4ischen_Parlamentes through upgrade of the number of seats in the EP as by the Lisbon treaty. N00bh4ck3r (talk) 05:48, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks. It was good to find that information in the German Wikipedia. I wish we could document the fact with a published reference apart from Wikipedia itself. His bio page on the BZÖ club site [2] doesn't say that he's an MEP now, so the lack of confirmation is puzzling. --Chonak (talk) 18:48, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
The bzoe-klub.at website is over a year UNUPDATED! 4 of the people mentioned on the site are not even members nor the bzö club as of end of 2009. You will find recent informations on bzoe.at about Stadler. And for Stadler it should be deemed like for Amelia Andersdotter (whereas she also isnt yet a MEP but the article says somehow she is). I only know how they do it in Austria where two MEP seats will be available by lisbon treaty for "Josef Weidenholzer(SPÖ) and Ewald Stadler(BZÖ)",read here (german written source) : http://www.wienerzeitung.at/default.aspx?tabID=3861&alias=wzo&cob=529886 And non of the new Austrian MEP's are working in the European Parlament yet. I dont think the swedish MEP's have send there new MEP's (received after Lisbon treaty in power) right to brussel because the german wiki article says about Andersdotter "she WILL become MEP".
Also look at your own link up there http://www.europarl.europa.eu/members/public/geoSearch/search.do?country=SE&language=EN you will see that de:Amelia Andersdotter (german article mentions here status) from Sweden isnt even mentioned BUT the english wiki article states she is a MEP (BUT she ISNT). As well does the de:Ewald Stadler (german article too) mention his status, which is exactly the same as the swedish MEP has.
In both german articles you find the SAME sentence "wird im Nachrückverfahren Mitglied des Europäischen Parlaments. " meaning they will become MEP's due to the lisbon treaty.
And it is also mentioned here in the german wiki: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_der_Mitglieder_des_7._Europ%C3%A4ischen_Parlamentes They only reason none of them isnt listed on the EP site is because they all have observer status at the moment!
Facit: Andersdotter and Stadler which have german and english wiki articles are BOTH MEP's waiting for approval(and the Andersdotter article in english says the untruth, the german the truth), to say it in technical words. It would be superb if you or somebody else could change the Andersdotter article with the MEP mentioning a bit to the form the Stadler article has, as for newbees the article wake the apparent she is an MEP for more than a year now (what neither she or Stadler are as the Lisbon got in power beginning 2010 and the observer status wasnt change for the new MEP's yet).
But if thats too much work you can write the following in the english articles for both Andersdotter and Stadler after translation in english "...wird im Nachrückverfahren Mitglied des Europäischen Parlaments" ,as I DONT KNOW HOW TO TRANSLATE THAT sentence. It somehow says what status the politician has which will become member of the EP in future without confusion if he/she is a MEP now or only observer. Most people wouldnt even know what observer status means so I think its the best solutions to write this short sentence mentioned by me in inverted commas (translate it with google translate from german to english).
Or you let the article be how it is. Thanks for the discussion. N00bh4ck3r (talk)
- Thank you very much for clarifying the situation for me, and for finding the wienerzeitung article. I've modified both Ewald Stadler and Amelia Andersdotter. Best wishes! --Chonak (talk) 05:10, 15 December 2010 (UTC)
Ok, well done! Thx. Merry x-mas by the way ;). N00bh4ck3r (talk) 20:07, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
Blocked: Vandalism
editSorry, I see you were actually removing the vandalism; the summary you used on both the talk page and template was really quite inappropriate, though. Please bear that in mind in future. Thanks, PeterSymonds (talk) 09:26, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
Well your education worked. I was really shocked now! Yeah you are right it really was quite inappropriate. Next time I will use a summary like "removed vandalism".
Thanks anyway that I was finally unlocked. I will be more well-behaved in future in my summarys and discussions. Have a nice day Symonds! N00bh4ck3r (talk) 09:29, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
