November 2021 edit

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. [1] MrOllie (talk) 19:13, 18 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello User:MrOllie -- I replaced a broken link. Why did you revert my edit?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by talk:Mybirthname (talkcontribs)

A broken link is preferable to a spam link. - MrOllie (talk) 19:39, 18 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

User:MrOllie -- Could you elaborate on how an article that covers the topic of the broken link is spam? Not trying to be a prick or start any edit war -- just trying to understand your reasoning. Thanks! Mybirthname (talk) 19:41, 18 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

The act of hijacking existing references to point to your company is spamming, especially since you are doing it through multiple Wikipedia accounts in an apparent attempt to avoid scrutiny. MrOllie (talk) 19:44, 18 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hijacking an existing reference would mean that a reference exists. Did you review the broken link? There's no spam involved with an article that covers the topic being referenced, so we can take this to the talk page in question. Mybirthname (talk) 19:50, 18 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Your web site is not a usable source on Wikipedia. If this link gets added again (by any account), I will ask for it to be added to Wikipedia's spam blacklist, and I think it is very likely that it will be. MrOllie (talk) 20:01, 18 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

User:MrOllie On a sidenote - I'd just like to take a second to appreciate your WikiNazi reputation. I was a bit frustrated at the banter back and forth, but upon doing a bit of research I came to appreciate it while chuckling to myself about our interaction. You even have your own reddit thread. It was my exact experience with you! lol.
