Request for comment edit

As someone who has edited the article Asian American this year, I am seeking your input on a proposed change to remove a reference to epicanthic eyefolds. This topic has prompted discussion in 2009, 2010 and most recently in 2013.

There's a fine line between being WP:BOLD and subverting WP:CONSENSUS. Given the history of this topic, I'm hoping that a robust discussion, for the record, would improve the article whether this reference stays or goes. Ishu (talk) 13:53, 9 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Fields Medal page edit

Hello there,I'm that user who's been the victim of editing the Fields Medal page(i.e.I got blocked with charge of Vandalism.).I've got three question:1)When the current protected status of that page ends,Does the page current contents remain in place or they are replaced with the old version? 2)I've prepared a new and somehow comprehensive table about Fields medalists.I posted this table on the discussion section of the Fields Medal page, and I request for comments about this(If You come there and see my that table I will be really glad, and don't forget to put your comment about it down there!;-)),but so far, just one person did so.Is it normal? 3)Should I submit a request for edit to replace the new table with current one?Or should I wait for reaching a consensus?Thank You. Hwatu images removed from hanafuda page edit

Hey, I initially uploaded the images because I was dissatisfied with the quality of the hanafuda images and planned to replace them. However, I realized upon closer inspection that there are slight differences (Korean characters on hwatu, Japanese on hanafuda), so it didn't seem right to replace them.

Hwatu redirects to the hanafuda page, so I figured this was the appropriate place to share them. Is there a more appropriate place? I'm new to contributing here, so some guidance would be very helpful.

Thanks.

Proposed revisions: Ivanpah Solar Power Facility edit

Hi, Myasuda. I noticed you have made some pages to some solar energy articles in the past and thought you might be able to offer me some guidance on an issue I am having regarding the Ivanpah Solar Power Facility article page. I have been trying for a couple weeks now to get some changes I suggested on Sept. 16 to be made on the Ivanpah Solar Power Facility article. Any suggestions? I don't want to do anything against the COI policy, as I work for the public relations firm that represents them. The changes are very straightforward, mostly correcting factually incorrect details. Any suggestions? Thx SusanChana (talk) 21:15, 9 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Incorrect Name Spelling edit

My passed father's name is spelled incorrectly. I am the third in the linage of that name and the name should be spelled Albert Amos Tucker Jr. not Albert Ames Tucker: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Tucker

This is my grandfather who was a harlem globetrotter: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=73953016

This is me: https://www.facebook.com/albert.a.tucker

Okay . . . various sources claim it's "Ames" (e.g., http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/t/tuckeal01.html ), but I'll take your word for it. — Myasuda (talk) 02:17, 7 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Bateman Island edit

I noted your "revert" of my edit of this article; however I don't see that it is a revert: you inserted the new ref (correctly) but it was not a revert because the other changes I made are still there, e.g. the change from {{cquote}} to {{quote}}. Do you know why Wikipedia reports this as a "revert" when in fact it is just a new edit? Jodosma (talk) 19:12, 25 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Pointless question edit

At the top it says no "Barnstars please". Out of curiosity, why do you not like barnstars? -DangerousJXD (talk) 08:02, 16 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Oh, it's not so much that I dislike like them. It's mainly a personal thing. I try to live my life in a relatively unpretentious manner, and an ostentatious display of barnstars would be out of character. I also want to ensure that the time I spend participating on wikipedia is driven primarily by a personal desire to help improve the project, and is not unduly influenced either by praise or criticism from others. — Myasuda (talk) 15:44, 16 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Best regular season records edit

Hello, I'm not sure if you realize this; the Golden State Warriors could now be added to this list, as they have 62 wins. Or do you wait until the end of the season? - 2602:306:C478:5C90:4DD:EA99:29D:3DAA (talk) 19:40, 19 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Personally, I will not add it in, but I'd expect someone else will do it before season's end. - 2602:306:C478:5C90:4DD:EA99:29D:3DAA (talk) 20:48, 19 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Artis Gilmore and DeAndre Jordan edit

Dear Myasuda, Recently I Saw you changed my edited articles of Artis Gilmore and DeAndre Jordan of the field goal percentage all time leader. In This URL: leaders/ fg_pct_career.html, you will see that DeAndre Jordan is the NBA All time leader in Field Goal Percentage and not Artis Gilmore. I request to return my changes.

Why are they not necessary wikilinks?! edit

Hello Myasuda! Why you have removed wikilinks saing that they are not necessary wikilinks?!

There are link to the topic (Tsuru Aoki) activities, so they are "Relevant connections to the subject of another article" (Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Linking#What generally should be linked].

Moreover, they are "Articles explaining words of technical terms, jargon or slang expressions/phrases" (same policy), actually I looked for article explaining "stage actor", "screen actor" and mostly the differences between them. --5.170.17.215 (talk) 22:13, 6 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Gil Dobie edit

I got your message about the revert on his DOB, so I did some research and came up with the birth year and a picture of his gravestone on a website that I added at the bottom of Dobie's page. It shows 1878 as being correct. But if I changed Dobie's page incorrectly, or if this is unacceptable proof, I apologize.

Washington Huskies Memorable Games edit

Last year I had written three entries, with quality sources, for recent memorable University of Washington football games. Now I see those entries have been deleted. I would like to repost them. Dr. Sakaye Sugikawa edit

Good Day Myasuda,

I am one of Dr. Sugikawa's benefactors as fetus, patient, family friend. I was the 5th child of Moira Ford Brady of Glendale, Ca. My name is Barney Brady; I reside in Healdsburg, CA.

I recalled "Sugi," as my mother affectionately called her, tonight. As I read your wiki article I note a significant error. It may be from a 3rd hand source but it is absolutely incorrect. I will share with you her seniment regarding her association with institutional medicine in her early life as follows:

She was asked to fill the void of physicians in Los Angeles due to the inscription of many during WWII. She de lined to, as she put it, " go with her people to serve them" while being interned at Manzanar. Thus, she was not declined a position by the suddenly needy mainstream medical institution, but quite the opposite.

I ask that you amend your article when you have time. As an admiring friend of hers, feel it is important to get this important fact clear.

She was a deadicated and respectful woman of many beautiful traits--including joy, style, fortitude as well as the many that couple with her remarkable long-serving medical carrer. And that is SERVICE with a capital S! She offered her gift to all regardless of their economic state or social strata. Would all physicians have half her talent or drive to help their fellows, we would not be in this current bereft medical state.

Another very important fact of her service is that she never used medical malpractice insurance in her entire carrer. She left her position at Queen of Angles because its board insisted she become insured at close to 60 years of service without it!

Principled...is she!

I will leave with these factual and sentimental comments Myasuda. Feel free to contact me at vitalyers@gmail.com or bbrady@mountainmeadowlandscape.com or 707.433.0485 anytime for more information about this remarkable woman.

Peace, Barney Brady — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.23.229.81 (talk) 07:19, 27 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

I assume you're referring to the article on Sakaye Shigekawa although you spelled her surname as Sugikawa.
You're under a greatly mistaken impression that this is "my" article. I made a single one-word change to refine a category attached to the article, which is essentially metadata for the article. Someone else supplied the main body content, and I take no responsibility for the content someone else wrote.
Furthermore, this article is a wikipedia article which means no one can claim ownership over the article content. If you feel that the facts are misrepresented, you are fully empowered to make the changes as you see fit. — Myasuda (talk) 09:02, 27 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
