A couple of other things to note:

  • I noticed that your username, MySpaceComms, may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it is promotional. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may file for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account and use that for editing.
  • Your username and userpage also highlights another policy you should be aware of; If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:
  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

I do appreciate your open declarations on talk pages etc regarding your potential conflict of interest. They are a good indicator that your edits are in good faith and likely to be valuable and worthy contributions. Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, particularly verifiability of information which outlines valid sources. I mention this because a number of sources you added were from MySpace, effectively Self Published Sources, as opposed to independent 3rd party sources. Other sources you added were good and valid reliable sources. Thank you for your note. I will address your suggestions and go back and update the summaries and use the signature from now on.

Regarding the username, I wanted to make clear that I’m a representative of the MySpace corporate communications team as I know changes are sensitive. The username was not created with the intent of promoting the company, however if it the community feels it promotes the company vs. clarifying who I am, I’m happy to change it.

As general policy, we’re restricting any edits to update information on MySpace related pages, we’re not removing and controversial debates or any criticism, but just sticking to facts such us updating roles, timelines, etc. We saw that a lot of the information about MySpace and its executives were out of date (some edits were as old as 2009). Given the controversial nature of MySpace page we’re only submitting possible edits for consideration and debate, rather than editing information directly. We’re respectful of the Wiki rules and welcome any suggestions to make sure we’re kept inline.

I will check again my edits to make ensure all sources are third party, I used 2 MySpace sources just for the bios, but I will try to find alternatives.
