Translating and notability edit

Hi there, I just accepted your article on Saad Malki but wanted to let you know that it's a bit borderline, notability-wise, so you may wish to add some additional sources to your translation. Given the content of the article and the sources I'm fairly confident that useful sources exist, so I don't think you need to worry overmuch about someone nominating the article for deletion (see WP:AFD for how this works if you're curious), but better sourcing would certainly help. You'll find the main notability guideline at WP:N. In general what you're looking for is significant coverage, ie coverage that is in-depth at some length. Other Wikipedias have their own guidelines about notability that don't always line up with English Wikipedia, so it's a good idea to always check the sources before you start translating, so you don't end up having your articles nominated for deletion.

All of that said, congratulations on your first article! I hope you enjoyed the experience. Let me know if you have any questions. -- asilvering (talk) 22:54, 4 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Awesome, thanks again! I have been looking for more references and information, so maybe this will (slowly) trickle in. Also I took a brief look at some of the wiki projects you recommended, thanks for pointing them out and I think I may join some soon. MyOrbs (talk) 22:06, 5 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
The whole bewildering directory of them is at WP:PROJDIR, if you've a mind to dive into a really deep rabbithole. Many of them were created in the very early days of Wikipedia and are no longer active, but the infrastructure is often still useful for finding tasks. If you haven't found this yet, there's also Category:Articles needing translation from Hebrew Wikipedia. These are articles that already exist on en-wiki, but have longer versions on he-wiki. -- asilvering (talk) 23:09, 5 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

gladly. Is my comment here in the right form? MyOrbs (talk) 17:50, 27 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
