Great job! One comment I have is that perhaps the article should pervasively state the assumed accent that is being used to demonstrate the different bits of the shift. For example, a British reader may end up with a slightly skewed sense of the examples if they are not reminded to "think" in terms of a general flat American accent - the sort that is typically depicted in U.S. television media, for example.
