KOCB and KAUT-TV

These 2 articles need to be edited, KOCB is flipping back to a independent station and KAUT is flipping to a CW affiliates starting tomorrow according to sources including making KAUT a owned and operated CW station. OWaunTon (talk) 15:24, 31 August 2023 (UTC)

About MTN

I saw some to edits about the Montana Television Network (MTN) stations losing the CW Plus affiliates on their DT2 subchannels and being replaced by independent DT2 Subchannels. What's up with that? (Sorry if I don't make sense, I'm trying to understand what's going on) Mer764Wiki (talk) 11:20, 2 September 2023 (UTC)

Ask @Sammi Brie: Mvcg66b3r (talk) 11:24, 2 September 2023 (UTC)
Okay, I'll tell her Mer764Wiki (talk) 12:20, 2 September 2023 (UTC)
@Mer764Wiki This one is a surprise! Someone made edits to KRTV yesterday, and I checked up on them and...they're real.
The only insights I can provide are (1) that MTN had a year to run on its CW Plus contract and (2) that the new MTN (channel) logo's shape matches that of KMCC in Las Vegas. Scripps has the rights to telecasts of the Vegas Golden Knights now, including in Montana. They are also doing something similar to what they did in Las Vegas in Salt Lake City with KUPX-TV, now "Utah 16"; I haven't seen the logo yet, but I bet it looks the same. The Knights deal includes 69 regular-season games. Very likely they could not have kept The CW with that level of sports preemption. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 17:01, 2 September 2023 (UTC)
Oh! That's interesting, what stations would air the CW however after MTN dropped it? Mer764Wiki (talk) 23:07, 2 September 2023 (UTC)
@Mer764Wiki Most of Montana is a big unknown. KSVI 6.2 in Billings, which is a Nexstar station, has taken the network. They have no partner in the rest of the state. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 23:18, 2 September 2023 (UTC)
I mean, The Cowles Company of Spokane, WA could affiliate their Montana stations with the CW (on a different subchannel, of course), or NBC Montana, but given the fact the owners of NBC Montana already made a deal with the CW, it's unlikely that NBC Montana may get it Mer764Wiki (talk) 23:33, 2 September 2023 (UTC)

KIMA has MyNetworkTV

MyNetworkTV couldn't find an affiliate, you made me not provide a reliable source for no reason. BMarGlines (talk) 22:54, 3 September 2023 (UTC)

NO REASON!!!, @Mvcg66b3r! The pages that I made CW O&O are O&O BMarGlines (talk) 15:11, 4 September 2023 (UTC)
The short description should be simple, not overboard like you be doing. Mvcg66b3r (talk) 15:13, 4 September 2023 (UTC)
WPIX & KTLA are flagships, the description should read as flagship stations. BMarGlines (talk) 15:30, 4 September 2023 (UTC)
Being called a "TV station" is too simple, it should either read O&O or affiliate for a TV station. BMarGlines (talk) 02:16, 10 September 2023 (UTC)
@BMarGlines (talk page stalker) Contrarian take: "TV station in (place)" is fine. O&O is not a well-known-enough term to be used in a short description. We have a lot of "affiliate", but I'm wondering if those are useful especially for people unfamiliar with US television. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 02:25, 10 September 2023 (UTC)
Sammi, PIX11 & KTLA5 are flagship stations. The descriptions should read "CW flagship station in New York" and "CW flagship station in Los Angeles". BMarGlines (talk) 21:00, 12 September 2023 (UTC)
@BMarGlines SDs are a very brief indication of the field covered by the article; a short descriptive annotation; a disambiguation in searches, especially to distinguish the subject from similarly titled subjects in different fields. I would rather see "TV station in" rather than "flagship station" of any kind. It's less descriptive in the places where it is used. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 22:42, 12 September 2023 (UTC)
Stations like WNBC use "flagship station" short description, I think PIX11 should use it. BMarGlines (talk) 01:42, 13 September 2023 (UTC)
WPIX just recently turned into a O&O (kinda) this past year, I don't know if we would do that. And plus, it would be confusing to do that to like KASN (Arkansas CW) Mer764Wiki (talk) 01:56, 13 September 2023 (UTC)
