Kelly Rowland discography and sales

edit

You may not be aware but the article Kelly Rowland discography is a WP:Featured list which means it examplifies the best works on wikipedia in terms of list articles. That means that every source has to be analysed to the highest of rigor to ensure reliability and verifiability. As per this discusser here references for sales need to be reliable and independent. Examples of reliable sources include things like Sources for this list must come from highly reliable news services such as CNN, FoxNews, The Los Angeles Times etc., or music industry related establishments such as MTV, VH1, Billboard magazine. Trashy internet blogs, or music press released are not considered reliable. For more information on sales bias please see this. If you believe the sales are wrong you need to discuss on the article's talk page. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 15:24, 19 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

PLEASE STOP trying to inflate Kelly Rowland and/or Destiny's Child's sales. You have been warned a number of times by myself, and other users and you've been told the clearly set rules and principles for album and single sales. Before trying to update sales please make sure you discuss with users either at Talk:Kelly Rowland discovery or Talk:List of Best selling music artist. This is the last time you'll be told. Next time I'll ask administrators to intervene and you could be blocked or banned from editing. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 16:11, 4 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Just stop!

edit

The American Talent Agency source is a management/PR bio, which makes it not reliable for sales. Like the user above said, sources "for sales need to be reliable and independent". Not from biographies, press releases, blogs, or social networking sites like Twitter or Facebook. Oz talk 11:32, 26 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Re:List of Best selling music artist

edit

If you don't know what sources are accepted at the List of best-selling music artists, you should perhaps discuss them first. Also, make sure you format all sources in the future. Other editors don't have to do that for you. Regards.--Harout72 (talk) 01:01, 1 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Edit to Here I Am

edit

Hi. I reverted your edit to Here I Am (Kelly Rowland album), as it introduced self-published sources, such as blogs and Twitter, which arent acceptable nor reliable as they have no editorial oversight, fact-checking, and can be held by anyone with an account. Charts News (Twitter) was specifically discussed and disputed at the Reliable sources noticeboard. Whether or not it sold the amount you say it did, a core policy of Wikipedia, and any other enyclopedia, is verifiability, not truth. Dan56 (talk) 19:59, 25 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Kelly Rowland discography, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Separated (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from List of Italian esteemed best-selling music artists. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you for your explanation. The last time I looked at this article, it still did not include any categories. With the {{uncat}} tag in place however, someone will visit the article soon to give it what it is missing. Have yourself a great day, and happy editing!

Please be patient, Wikipedia isn't going anywhere. Once Year of the Woman is released, there will be many reliable sources that will have the more recent sales of Here I Am. — Oz (talk) 11:14, 16 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history at Mina (Italian singer) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jaan (talkcontribs) 19:20, 19 October 2012‎

Europe

I have reverted your change from 'seven' to 'six' in the article Europe because it is inconsistent with our article on Continent. Please make your case on the appropriate talk page rather than making this change in articles. Thanks. ~Amatulić (talk) 20:50, 23 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Superbowl Show 2013

edit

It's still a rumour. We do not add rumours in Wikipedia articles. — Oz 22:07, 17 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

She hasn't confirmed it. It could be true because the new DC album comes out a week before Super Bowl but you need to wait until Beyonce, Kelly or Michelle confirm this. — Oz 22:18, 17 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

The album charts and sales can stay in the lead. The main problem was the amount of singles mentioned in the lead when most of those singles were not "major" hits. The worldwide sales of Here I Am can only be added to the discography article once a reliable source is found (keep in mind that reliable sources do not include official artist websites, press releases from record labels, blogs, forums, Twitter, fansites). Happy editing! — Oz 23:49, 19 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Kelly Rowland Comeback

edit

Hi there,

Comeback was pulled in favor of ghetto. The song was not released in the end. If you check blogs during the era you would see that ppl talk about "comeback" as the next single but 2-3 weeks later they already talk about ghetto as the next in line. Yes it was introduced as the next single from the cut but this never happened. I mean if it was really intended to support the album with radio release had they really given it only 3 weeks to pick up on radio??? That's impossible! Szaboci (talk) 09:36, 21 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Also the song had no phisical or digital release as stand alone single plus had ZERO impact on radio anywhere in the world. Ghetto had no impact on radio either but at least had a phisical release. Therefore I really cannot comprehend why you still insisting that this was in fact a single. Szaboci (talk) 10:06, 21 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Falsifying sources

edit

This edit was completely unacceptable. You were warned by an edit filter not to use the figures sourced by the "chartnews" account on Twitter because it was a completely anonymous source of data. You proceeded to include the figure anyway, and then later falsified a source, adding a reliable-looking one that did not mention your figure at all. Repeating such edits will result in your account being blocked from editing. If you cannot find a reliable source for data you wish to insert, then simply don't insert it.—Kww(talk) 22:51, 12 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
