Welcome edit

Hello, Munderscore and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students. Go through our online training for students

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one please tell your instructor about that. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! Deepfriedokra (talk) 17:48, 19 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I an a University Student at Washington State University. An assignment in one of my classes is to create a wikipedia page on a semi-famous building without an existing one. In class today he demonstrated how to create a page and wanted a few of us to edit it as an example. This was seen as vandalism by a editor. I understand now that this goes against the Wikipedia guidelines and will also document and inform him and my classmates of this. Thank you for your understanding. I hope this is the correct place to respond. If unblocked, I intend to edit pages with facts from sources and within wikipedia guidelines. I also plan on creating a article for a semi-famous landmark in my area again using correct sources and upholding wikipedia guidelines. Yes ballparx is my professor and I do have an assignment but I plan to use this account for personal use once its over. I again apologize for violating guidelines. Accept reason:

I would have preferred more specific detail on what you intend to edit, but this is probably good enough. Per the discussion here the blocking admin is comfortable with you being unblocked, and as I am as well I will lift the block. I wish you the best for your future contributions, and would be pleased to answer any questions you might have if you post them at User talk:Nick-D. The advice and offers of assistance with education related work made below should also be useful for you. Nick-D (talk) 09:40, 20 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

What topics do you intend to edit if you're unblocked? Please be specific. Regards, Nick-D (talk) 07:49, 19 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Tell your instructor, please, edit

that this is an encyclopedia and not a place to practice writing silly things. @Ballparx:, you created that bit of vandalism, if you wish to teach here, please see [ https://dashboard.wikiedu.org/ The WikiEdu dashboard]. There is a right way to go about doing this.Deepfriedokra (talk) 18:00, 19 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Is Ballparx your instructor? I've left a message for them. If not, please ask your instructor to visit teach.wikiedu.org, so we can set you up with a productive assignment so you can make good contributions to Wikipedia. --LiAnna (Wiki Ed) (talk) 20:11, 19 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
