Nulkh edit

I have removed the speedy deletion tag from Nulkh, as it does not fall under "test pages". I would advise you to reread the CSD criteria. Ironholds (talk) 02:30, 1 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hope I am doing this right edit

Hi MuffledThud! I fixed the page (The scarlet ending) with some citations that meet the criteria (I believe). When you get time can you check in and let me know if I did enough for it to not be deleted? I plan on updating it more when I can talk to one of the girls and get the specific dates and all that fun stuff.

Thanks again for the welcome :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by AGarritillo (talkcontribs) 20:18, 1 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Exore Gaming Limited edit

Hello,

I have tried many times to make this article adding referances and what nots. Now could you please tell me what I did wrong this time :). I thought it is very important since its a company that is affected by the economic meltdown. Could you please put it back up or tell me to make changes( spent good time doing research on the topic). I would really appreciate. Thanks, Winner11 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Winner11 (talkcontribs) 20:47, 1 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hello, please have a read of WP:Notability (companies) for more info. MuffledThud (talk) 20:50, 1 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hey,

I have read the link, what I am trying to say that the company I wrote has two important factors:

Started by a teenager Has some economic problems

Please reconsider, or at least tell me what I have to do.

Thanks much, Winner11 PS: Not trying to advertise if you are thinking, happen to work for the companies distant competitor :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.13.204.22 (talkcontribs)

I don't think either one of those things would count for notability according to the guidelines at WP:Notability (companies). But it's up the Wikipedia administrators to decide, not me. MuffledThud (talk) 21:13, 1 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Joanie Bartels edit

Sorry, I can't find the copyvio, what page is it on? - Dan Dank55 (push to talk) 17:59, 5 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

http://www.mp3.com/artist/joanie-bartels/summary/, as per the tag. Just about everything after the first few paragraphs is pasted in from that article. MuffledThud (talk) 18:03, 5 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
I'm losing the formatting of course, but this is what I see when I pull up the page (free free to delete this mess after you've seen it)
- Dan Dank55 (push to talk) 18:10, 5 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
(snip part of HTML paste)... Expand the part that starts: "Joanie Bartels, one of the best-selling artists in the children's genre, wasn't even identified on the packaging of her first few children's releases. Yet, on the strength of her charming voice...", then read on. If you think that there's anything worth keeping after you chop out the copyrighted stuff, then feel free to leave the article up. MuffledThud (talk) 18:15, 5 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
I chopped out the copyvio and took it to AfD: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Joanie Bartels. - Dan Dank55 (push to talk) 22:23, 5 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Stanford's World Association of International Studies edit

Dear MuffledThud, I just created a page on Stanford's WAIS. You have undone. Please let me know how to fix or what the problem is. Thanks much.--Pavasta (talk) 21:45, 13 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Dear MuffledThud, I had permission to use the text. But I did re-wrote the page, as you had asked. Please let me know if that is now acceptable. Thanks much.--Pavasta (talk) 19:13, 14 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Dear MuffledThud, Sure. No problem. Can you highligh specifically what part, so I can either re-write or ask the right question. Thanks again for your help. --Pavasta (talk) 22:36, 14 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sorry - forgot to mention that if you look at WAIS website, there are no copyright notices, due to the nature of contributions. Thanks. --Pavasta (talk) 22:43, 14 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Dear MuffledThud, Thanks for all your help. I will add references.--Pavasta (talk) 16:45, 15 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hollywood of the east listed at RfD edit

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Hollywood of the east. Since you had some involvement with the Hollywood of the east redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion (if you have not already done so). Redtigerxyz Talk 13:51, 14 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Bobby Shafto's Gone to Sea edit

Hi. You reverted my creation of this page. This was the outcome of a discussion on Talk:Bobby Shafto. It is not a duplicate, because that article is about Robert Shafto and the one I created is about the song (folk songs are usually listed under their first line), which may or may not be about that historical figure. The plan, as you will see, was to adjust the Bobby Shafto page to reflect the new separate article. However, I wasn't planning to do that, but I was going to leave it to the major editor of that page. I would really appreciate it if you would restore my edits to the various pages, otherwise this situation cannot be satisfactorily resolved. Thanks.--Sabrebd (talk) 10:33, 15 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Aha, so the intention is not to fork but to split. OK, will revert my redirect. MuffledThud (talk) 13:07, 15 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks - it might take a bit of time to sort out as its a matter of co-operation.--Sabrebd (talk) 13:19, 15 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

New Pages Patrol edit

Hi, thanks for your amazing work in patrolling the new articles coming in, I often see you around :). But when tagging an article for speedy deletion, could you please (if possible) mark them as patrolled? Cheers - Kingpin13 (talk) 06:35, 16 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Why thank you. OK, will start marking them patrolled. MuffledThud (talk) 10:13, 16 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Okay, keep up the good work :). Also good luck with getting NPWatcher (was going to suggest you get it but I see you're alread at WP:RFPERM :) - Kingpin13 (talk) 12:04, 16 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Barry J Farber edit

Must have been a mistake - why don't you add a category you find appropriate, instead of leaving it blank to leave people who couldn't care less to have to fix it again. Bothpath (talk) 22:07, 16 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

It's better to leave an article with an "uncategorized" tag than to add an incorrect category. Bad info is worse than no info. MuffledThud (talk) 22:33, 16 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Steve Reichert edit

In this article, I removed the long section of copyright violation I found, and declined the speedy. I won't be back til the morning ... if you see this before I get up, could you check the article to see if the rest is also copyvio from somewhere, and re-tag it if so? - Dan Dank55 (push to talk) 03:45, 19 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Will do, thanks. MuffledThud (talk) 03:47, 19 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi Muffled thud, Hope you don't mind, but I've replaced the speedy on Caveman training with a notability tag as I can work out the context. ϢereSpielChequers 12:56, 22 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Safemedia edit

Just an FYI, when tagging articles as advertising, you might want to see if they are actually copyvios. I just deleted an article for safemedia, that is a copyvio of this. An easy way to find it is to take a sentence from the wiki article and look for the sentence in Google. You would be surprised at how many "spam"articles are actually copyvios.---I'm Spartacus! NO! I'm Spartacus! 22:40, 24 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, yes I do lots of those. Sometimes it's a judgment call on whether to tag spam as db-spam or db-copyvio, since if you only tag spam as copyvio they'll just put some non-copyvio spam up as soon as the copyvio is deleted. I could tag it as both, but Twinkle doesn't support multiple speedy tags yet. Maybe I should propose that as a feature... MuffledThud (talk) 10:15, 25 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
Personally, I hate db:spam. That is a very (overly) subjective category in many cases. Plus, one of the key reasons to do it as a copyvio as compared to spam is that a lot of people treat spam (and attack pages) differently. When I work CSD, I always clear out those two categories first because they are the ones that can do actual damage if a search engine or wikiclone gets ahold of them.---I'm Spartacus! NO! I'm Spartacus! 17:05, 25 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
It can often be a matter of balancing the minor irritant of potential future repeat spam versus accidental deletion of useful content, so in that respect you're right, the latter is worse than the former. Without hard data on the actual frequency of repeat spam, however, the judgement is based solely on subjective recall of anecdotal data. I wonder if anyone has done stats analysis on this yet using a reliable large sample. Worth thinking through further, thanks. MuffledThud (talk) 17:48, 25 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Chris Bradds de-prodded edit

One of the two (seemingly single-purpose) editors of this article has removed the prod tag... and also most of the unref tags. I'd afd it myself, but I actually used to know the subject of the article. Not exactly a conflict of interest... but it would keep me off a jury! You might also want to check the edits of users Brep00 as well, as both accounts probably *do* have CoI issues with any members of the Bradds family. The Terry Bradds article may be worthy of inclusion, but it's borderline. Majorclanger (talk) 15:49, 27 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Well spotted, thanks Major C. I've just AFd'd it, since the editor(s) don't seem interested in referencing it, and it looks like turning into a pointless edit war over removal and restoration of unref tags and dodgy refs. He sounds like a pretty cool guy and I bet he has some great stories to tell, but the article easily fails WP notability standards and doesn't look fixable. MuffledThud (talk) 15:56, 27 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

delete the articles if you wish. don't have any CoI interest in the bradds family. just interested because they are a higher profile family from where i was from. also, interested in Gary Bradds. he and Terry Bradds were hero's of mine as well as many others. didn't create either article! i'll refrain from any other additions to wikipedia. --Brep00 (talk) 05:11, 29 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
