The article Chencho (footballer) has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

INDIAN FOOTBALL FORUM edit

Hey Msrinath, I have been noticing you on the Indian Football Wikipedia pages and would first like to say great job. I love the work you have been doing like editing the 2011–12 I-League and keeping that page up to date. I came to ask you if you would like to join the Indian Football Forums from the Indian Football Network. We currently have over 400 members who talk daily on the forums. Including me. (My username on the forums in Arsenalfan). We even have a wikipedia section in the forums where wiki users like you, me, and even Ashindia talk all the time. Its also a great way to get suggestions from other people for what they want and to see if we can fulfill those wishes. So come on. Trust me its great. http://forum.indianfootballnetwork.com/index.php --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 16:05, 10 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of I-League records and statistics edit

The article I-League records and statistics has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Wikipedia is not a sports almanac; dead-end substub; can't find merge target

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hey mate, just want to say thank you for taking care of the 2012 Nagaland Premier League and 2012 I-League 2nd Division Final Round pages while I was absent from wikipedia. Your work has not gone unnoticed and as a thank you I would love if you joined Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/India task force. Your help would be amazing and really appreciated. Thanks again. Satiyasen Singh edit

Hey mate. Nice article but there is just one problem which I will not put on the article but a member of WikiProject: Football will probably. Its that from what we know Singh has only played in the 2nd Division and thus is not notable as the I-League 2nd Division is not a professional league. See Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Fully professional leagues, basically the I-League is good and that any player who has played at least 1 second in I-League is notable but never a player who has played only in I-League 2nd Division. The only way he can be notable NOW is if we can prove that he played in the Federation Cup (India) or Durand Cup. Anyway I will try to find proof that he played in the Federation Cup as Royal did play in it during the 2011 Federation Cup. If you can to please try finding evidence that he played in the I-League, Federation Cup or Durand Cup at one point or someone will delete the article. (NOTE: Dont worry. As much as I like to follow wiki guidelines I will not nominate the article for deletion). Cheers. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 23:19, 22 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Excellent job finding the reference. The page should now be 100% notable. --Arsenalkid700 (talk) 23:34, 23 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi there. When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. Speedy deletion nomination of Roll Rida edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Roll Rida requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Invite to the African Destubathon edit

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 11:16, 20 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Two things edit

Hi there, re: this edit, two things:

  1. We do not format references as in-line external links. References go after the content they support. The simplest form of this is to put a URL between two ref tags, like <ref>http://website.com</ref>.
  2. We do not use random blogs or other faceless websites as references. Please stick to mainstream publications and known news outlets, or books from major publishing houses, or magazines from major entities, where there is a presumption of fact-checking and accuracy, and a clear editorial standard. "Cinejosh", a blog run by unknown parties, is not sufficient. See WP:ICTF#Guidelines on sources for some examples of suitable sources in the context of Indian entertainment.

Proposed deletion of 2011 Calcutta Football League edit

The article 2011 Calcutta Football League has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The page doesn't contain any sourced information and is incomplete. The contents aren't sufficient enough to be a relevant page

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
