Thursday's Class

edit

On Thursday (9/22), Nicole and I would like to help the groups with the "One Deal a Day" Wikipedia page and the "Zwinky" Wikipedia page. Msackler (talk) 00:30, 22 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Feedback on project idea:
Topic: ApartmentList.com
New/Improve: New
Feasibility: Good - but be careful that it doesn't sound like an advertisement for the website - include resources outside of the website
Scope: Within scope. It might be important to add a description of other ways to search for apartments and, again, link to other resources within Wikipedia and outside of Wikipedia
Justification: Good
Relevant to course content: Be sure to explain the social aspects
Proper formatting: Good

The page Apartmentlist has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to be blatant advertising which only promotes something, and which is unlikely to be suitable for an article (or at best would need a fundamental rewrite). Wikipedia is not a medium for promotion of anything, whether a company, product, group, service, person, religious or political belief, or anything else. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Also, see WP:CORP. NawlinWiki (talk) 01:46, 21 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

I noted on NawlinWiki's talk page that you are writing this page as a class project. Please go to his talk page to see the reasons he deleted the page you created and useful information on how to make it worthy as a Wikipedia article. LeshedInstructor (talk) 19:38, 21 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of ApartmentList

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on ApartmentList requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. MikeWazowski (talk) 00:43, 22 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Apartment List

edit

The article Apartment List has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Promotional article that gives no indication of notability. Tagged for years without improvement.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
