Lucy Bacon edit

Hi, thanks for working to sort out the external link on the Lucy Bacon article. Since this was a book, it belongs in a "Further reading" section, which I added. Further reading is a section of books or other substantive sources that could be used to expand the article - or provide additional information for a reader that is not already covered in the article.

I removed the citation formatting (<ref></ref>) from the beginning and end of the source information because citations do not occur in the sections below "References". The link was already included in the citation template and was not needed, so it was removed, too.

Hopefully that makes sense!

Thanks for jumping in!--CaroleHenson (talk) 03:08, 15 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Group chat idea... edit

Hi, I have thought of creating a discussion group for new users to have a chance to share thoughts about what they're doing on Wikipedia, ask questions, share tips, and get connected. It can sometimes be hard to connect with others, and this might be a way to stay in touch.

My initial thought, but suggestions are welcome, is that I'd start a talk page and those who want to participate - maybe 4 or so people - could "watch" the page and then read and post to the page as desired. Would you be interested in something like that?--CaroleHenson (talk) 09:38, 16 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

I went ahead and started it. If you'd like to join in, it's at User talk:CaroleHenson/Chat group.--CaroleHenson (talk) 16:21, 17 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your submission at Articles for creation: Roberto Esteban Chavez (November 3) edit

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by EBY3221 was: Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit when they have been resolved. EBY (talk) 00:25, 3 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Research / question edit

I have made some edits to the article - which helped me better understand his story. Then, I went looking for sources and didn't find him as Roberto Esteban Chavez in:
I found him as Roberto Esteban Chavez in two books and Roberto Chavez in three additional books. There is also a Roberto Chavez in the LA area about 44 years of age - a graduate of the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena.
There is a Roberto Chavez that illustrated Mex Glimpse, wrote Quiero un libro, and was an Intl. dir. of exhibiting, c1982 in VIAF, WorldCat, and Library of Congress. There's no dates of birth, though, for this record to help sort this out - nor a middle name.--CaroleHenson (talk) 01:15, 3 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Invitation edit

Have you heard of the Kaffeeklatsch? It is a test area for women to hear and support each other. The idea came about as a result of a discussion at meta regarding my IdeaLab proposal (yet open) for WikiProject Women.

Now that the klatsch has survived an MfD and WMF legal has said that it does not violate the non discrimination policy,[1] I am looking for women editors who might like to join.

Although I have started a couple of discussions, they are not urgent. For now, the "Please introduce yourself" discussion is more important! I want to take it slow at first and build a small group before trying to address heavy topics or come up with big goals. For now, the klatsch is there as a sort of refuge. I hope you will consider joining, and invite other women editors, too, if you wish. Lightbreather (talk) 22:57, 11 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
