SS Rex edit

I've switched it back to Trieste, as there is a source in the article that is supposed to say it's Trieste. I can't check, as its a book I don't have. If you have a source for it being Koper, please change back and add your source. Hope you don't mind me checking back with you. --Elen of the Roads (talk) 17:59, 25 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • Huh, I've seen the remains of the Rex ship, and I know its near Koper(Between Izola and Koper), which was at the time so small, so they just said near Trieste, now the town of Koper became a city, so I think its ok to say near Koper, but I will get a source somewhere, so It will be clear.Mrwho00tm (talk) 18:33, 25 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. That makes sense. --Elen of the Roads (talk) 20:23, 25 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Lanmarks photos edit

Good work for these photos. You should also consider that they are derivative works, and I guess you might add descriptions of every particular photo with authors. Why don't you upload them to the Commons? Pay attention also that photos do not double - see for example Koper and Maribor. On what basis did you select images? --xJaM (talk) 13:17, 14 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • I'm yet discovering the wikipedia stuff and all that, so i'm not that familiar with the sites of this project, however I will upload them to the commons if you say so, and I will add authors, as soon as I can, because to be quite honest, I wanted to sneak by, without proper classification n' all that, if you know what I mean=)

I choose pictures as I think it would be OK because I've been to all this places, so I know what are the important sites/landmarks, but I work somewhat slow, so it takes a while to do what I want to do to help wikipedia=) Mrwho00tm (talk) 20:11, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Copyright problem: Orthopedic Specialty Hospital Valdoltra edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Orthopedic Specialty Hospital Valdoltra, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to contain material copied from http://www.ob-valdoltra.si/zgodovina, and therefore to constitute a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policies. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators are liable to be blocked from editing.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under license allowed by Wikipedia, then you should do one of the following:

It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:Orthopedic Specialty Hospital Valdoltra saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! Eleassar my talk 18:38, 1 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

The same for Marina Lucija - please rewrite these two articles so that you'll have a synthesis of several sources written with your own words and not a close paraphrasing or even direct translation of one source. --Eleassar my talk 18:58, 1 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Continuing copyright issues with Marina Lucija edit

While I appreciate your effort to rewrite this, I'm afraid that your rewrite remained unusable to its close paraphrasing of your source. The write to translate content from another language belongs to the author of the original, unless he gives the rights to do so away. Following closely in your translation simply creates a derivative work

While facts are not copyrightable, creative elements of presentation - including both structure and language - are. The original text and the proposed rewrite have had to be deleted. You are welcome to expand the remaining stub, but please use your own words and structure to do so. Do not copy creative elements of your source.

The essay Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing contains some suggestions for rewriting that may help avoid these issues. The article Wikipedia:Wikipedia Signpost/2009-04-13/Dispatches, while about plagiarism rather than copyright concerns, also contains some suggestions for reusing material from sources that may be helpful, beginning under "Avoiding plagiarism".

Alternatively, if the material can be verified to be public domain or permission is provided, we can use the original text with proper attribution.

Please let me know at my talk page if you have questions about this. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:41, 17 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Europe 10,000 Challenge invite edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:Obcinapiran.JPG edit

The file File:Obcinapiran.JPG has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
