• I added the region and date parameters, which can be used to specify a non-standard region or multiple regions. They come first, as that should be the only time a non-standard region would be used. MrKIA11 (talk) 14:12, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
  • The fact that it comes first is a problem, IMO. It means you have to split the other dates apart into multiple instances of the template if it falls between them chronologically. Also, the fact that you can only use it once per instance is vexing. SharkD (talk) 05:35, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
    • It should only be used once if at all. The guidelines say that the only time a non-major region is stated is if it is where the game was first released, which is why I put it first. MrKIA11 (talk) 11:07, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
      • The template doesn't only behave in this way for non-major regions. It also behaves this way when major regions are paired together, such as in this example: {{User:MrKIA11/vgrelease|region=[[North America|NA]]/[[Japan|JP]]|date=February 1, 2002}}. SharkD (talk) 20:04, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
      • I've solved this problem in my own variation of your template. For example, {{User:SharkD/testtemplate|NA|1989-03-12|[[Europe|EU]]/[[Japan|JP]]|2000-08-16}}. However, in addition to this it would also be better to automatically collapse identical dates into the same entry. The benefit of this would be that users would not be required to use special syntax for these situations. I'm working on a solution right now. SharkD (talk) 22:10, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
        • The project consensus says that non-standard regions can be mentioned for the region of the developers. For instance a game developed in Japan and released in North America first would still have a Japanese date mentioned. Kariteh (talk) 22:21, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
          • Is there any guideline for combining regions if the dates are the same? Because I prefer to have the regions separate even if they are the same. This makes the dates line up better also. IMO AUS should also be changed to AU for the same reason. MrKIA11 (talk) 22:38, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
            • Not sure. This feature would of course be optional, but also enabled by default. As for lining things up, I think it would be a bigger issue if the templates used commas instead of line breaks to separate release dates. As things stand now, I don't think it's a big issue.
