Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Your Business Community edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Your Business Community, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Managing a conflict of interest edit

  Hello, Mr.paul.kelly. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Draft:Your Business Community, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the COI guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 16:19, 22 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

July 2019 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or promotion. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 16:28, 22 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

How can appeal this decision when my account has been blocked. I set this account up several years ago and, if I was a spammer, sureley I would have done so a long time ago¬

Decline reason:

I am declining your unblock request because it does not address the reason for your block, or because it is inadequate for other reasons. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information.   Dlohcierekim (talk) 17:08, 22 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

promo content edit

Draft:Your Business Community was completely promotional. Please see USER:dlohcierekim/g11 for information on avoiding some of the pitfalls.  Dlohcierekim (talk) 17:11, 22 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I had created the page with a plan to set something up like this - Federation_of_Small_Businesses. It was just a start and by no means complete. My organisation offers services similar to this and that of UK Chambers of Commerce and is focussed on supporting and helping small businesses, startups and entrepreneurs. The finished page would not have been any more promotional than the previously mentioned one or this one! I also was unaware on how I could appeal my blocked account on the basis that I could not add any content, however, it seems that the description was not clear enough as I could post here!

Decline reason:

No thanks. You won't be unblocked to write about Your Business Community. This would be a violation of WP:COI and WP:PROMO. If you wish to write about other things, subject areas for which you have no conflict of interest, tell us what they are. Note that you have provided no evidence these other articles were written by people with conflicts of interest, though WP:OTHERSTUFF would apply if so. Yamla (talk) 11:32, 23 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Many thanks for the quick response. I am dissapointed as it shows that honesty doesn't pay - maybe I should have not declared my connection! I wanted to write a neutral post about this business group so it was equalliy reflected in the same way other business groups are. I am not making any claims on the other pages indicated, outside of them working in the same/similar space to the one we work in! I have no idea who wrote/edited/updated them, but would be surprised if they were not related to the relevant organisations. On this basis, I confirm that I will not attempt to create a page for Your Business Community. I would, however, like to maintain the ability to edit/contribute to other pages.

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. You must sign in to make an unblock request. You are welcome to sign in and make your request. Note that you'll have to tell us what subject areas you plan to edit instead. Yamla (talk) 11:59, 23 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

Now logged in! At this stage, I am usure of of where I would like to contribute, but you can see that in the several years I have been signed up, I have not previously caused issues.

Decline reason:

When you have a contribution you want to make that is not related to your conflict of interest, you may request unblock at that time(along with specifically agreeing to not edit about your organization). I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 12:10, 23 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
