- Although I agree that it is nice to have a new contributor, could you PLEASE add more info than just one sentence? What information is to be learned from just that? If you want to help and create articles, please at least add a taxobox, synonyms, categories, stub type, distribution and (if you can find it): a picture, a discription and the food plants. - Thanks for the input! I am wondering if there is an easy way to add a taxobox? In the past I did them by looking at another species page and copying except with different species name. Should I just copy and paste from a different species page and make neccessary changes? Where do you reccommend getting pictures from? I know where I can get pictures such as for the species Argema fournieri but it is copyrighted and this is such a rare species I might not find any others. Is it preferable to label an article as a moth stub and a saturniidae stub or just one? I add the location already. Some of the species I have done do not even have a recorded foodplant. I have a question, can I describe a species from a photo and then reference the site where the photo was found or is that considered original work? I feel than two sentences is better than none, would you not agree? and since no one else has bothered to create the articles, it is better than nothing. Thank you for commenting. - User:Mothman27
- No worries. Easiest thing is to look up the closest species that already has an article on wikipedia, copying that page, and than making the changes needed. So for the Argema species, I copied the article for Argema mimosae (the taxobox, and the categories). Since the species is from Africa: you can find info on Afro Moths (distribution, synonyms, subspecies). You can look for a picture on Flickr, wikimedia commons (maybe we already have one!, BOLD systems [2], etc.). Another good source for synonyms and taxonomy is taxapad [www.taxapad.com] and funet [3].
