Thanks for fixing that rationale, it makes more sense like that. I think the initial version was posted by some subject fans and they got carried away with the article and the images as well. - Ahunt (talk) 15:31, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

Hi

I just got a message from Eco Marine Power giving me permission to use the image - is that enough to keep the picture up? Should I mail the message to someone (it doesn't use the template set up by Wikipedia).

Many thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Okym24 (talkcontribs) 10:21, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

Yes, you need to forward the email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

Caspian Horse

Thank you for your message of which I feel I would like some help to understand how I need to apply the specific way of posting required by Wikipedia. Obviously I am new to this and have struggled to reply to your original message - sorry!!! If you would be happy to point me in the right direction I would like to correct the way I have added our addition changes.

I also have some photos to add and would like some help on copyright (all of which I have the copyright template filled out by the people supplying the photos)and also how to upload them correctly.

Many thanks, Bathleyhills — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bathleyhills (talkcontribs) 14:33, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

If you want to upload a photo taken by someone else you must have permission from that person under a license like: CC-BY or CC-BY-SA. Addinonally you must prove that the person gave you this permission. There are two ways to do this: One option is if the photographer shares the photo on an website that specifically mentions the it is licensed as CC-BY or CC-BY-SA, you can add a link to that page. The other option is to have the photographer send an email to OTRS stating that image is licensed as CC-BY or CC-BY-SA.MorganKevinJ(talk) 23:13, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

On Flickr confirmation

What to do when have approval from Flickr image owner to use photo on commons (have approval to upload for article)but owner has already used modus All rights reserved. What kind of approval is needed, to upload and give information about owner and his confirmation.

Lepota (talk) 19:22, 15 March 2011 (UTC)Lepota

For the flicker review to pass the image needs to be liscensed as cc-by or cc-by-sa. The image is treated as a fair use image if permission is only granted to Wikipedia. The author can either change the license on flicker or send an email to OTRS granting permission. MorganKevinJ(talk) 00:19, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

fair use of Rediretory

What happens when more than one title wants a redirect to different articles? Please have a look at "Top Billing". Thanx — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tholoana23 (talkcontribs) 08:13, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

I replaced the redirect with a disambiguation page. MorganKevinJ(talk) 21:56, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

Text OTRS permissions

I just happened to notice Todd Harrison and had a request for you - could you add {{ConfirmationOTRS}} to the talk pages of such articles so that it's easy for others to check if there's permission without having to scan the history of the article for edit summaries? VernoWhitney (talk) 15:30, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Sure, Thanks for letting me know about this MorganKevinJ(talk) 16:19, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
Great, thanks! VernoWhitney (talk) 16:30, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
