Altered speedy deletion rationale: Creative Delight

edit

Hello Mophista. I am just letting you know that I deleted Creative Delight, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided, which doesn't fit the page in question. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 12:08, 12 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion declined: Arthur Engelbert

edit

Hello Mophista. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Arthur Engelbert, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Being a professor indicates importance/significance, use WP:PROD or WP:AFD instead. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 12:28, 12 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Federico Moja, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Italian (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

AfroCine: Join the Months of African Cinema this October!

edit

Greetings!

After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.

The AfroCine Project welcomes you to October, the first out of the two months which have been dedicated to creating and improving content that centre around the cinema of Africa, the Caribbean, and the diaspora. Join us in this global edit-a-thon, by helping to create or expand articles which are connected to this scope. Also remember to list your name under the participants section.

On English Wikipedia, we would be recognizing participants in the following manner:

  • Overall winner (1st, 2nd, 3rd places)
  • Diversity winner
  • Gender-gap fillers

For further information about the contest, the recognition categories and how to participate, please visit the contest page here. For further inquiries, please leave comments on the contest talkpage or on the main project talkpage. See you around :).--Jamie Tubers (talk) 00:50, 30 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hello Mophista, I noticed that you added yourself to the Podcasting WikiProject! Glad to have another member, if you're interested in collaborating on any specific articles feel free to make a suggestion for a collaboration of the month at the project talk page. TipsyElephant (talk) 20:34, 13 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Apologies, I did not see this until now, but have seen that you're a massive contributor to podcasting and I am a bit shocked at how behind wiki is on the entire industry. I'd love to collaborate. Thank you for all of the amazing work you've done. Mophista (talk) 15:03, 30 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

3 articles to draftspace

edit

Hi. As some articles you wrote were so low on information and sources that they didn't demonstrate notability, I moved them to draftspace so you could work on them. You may find them at Draft:audiochuck, Draft:Anatomy of Murder, and Draft:CounterClock.

Please take the time to write an article that would pass a deletion process. Use more sources and not only sources you'll find with a quick Google search. Consider using the Wikipedia Library. If a topic is notable, there will be significant media coverage. There is no need to rush. Consider that coverage of audiochuck on Flowers' article provides more thorough coverage than your draft. I was going to propose deletion, but it seems you may know more about these podcast topics than you included in the article. Continue working on them to get them up to snuff with additional sources that demonstrate notability.

Alternately, you may request someone else write the article; there is a place where that can be done.

I'll watch the pages. When the need arises, I edit articles for compliance to Wikipedia standards of neutrality, balance, level of sourcing, tone, and more; I will do so for these three to ensure balance when they return to the mainspace.

Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for editing! DiamondRemley39 (talk) 14:47, 30 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I agree audiochuck should be in drafts and will ask WikiProject Podcasting to help with it. I simply thought that, in terms of the podcasting industry, it was odd that this didn't have an article. However, the threshold for what makes a company notable (any type of company, really) is a question that I had not considered. Apologies for publishing way too soon. Mophista (talk) 15:34, 30 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

I hear you and I wish you well! DiamondRemley39 (talk) 15:51, 30 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
