How you can help

Hi |Moonslide! The template I have placed above should help you with the basics of how things are done here in Wikipedia, but obviously, there's much more to it. Don't be bashful, just speak up when you need to learn things-- works for me, and I'm hard-headed about learning! It's a great thing that you opened an account, since that is key to being able to being able to upload photos and sound to Wikimedia Commons, where everything is stored so we can share all our uploads with our sister-Wikipedias in other languages. --Leahtwosaints (talk) 22:21, 9 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Help with photos! edit

Hi Moonslide. I've also copied this to where you left the message on my talk page. Can you let me know what kinds of articles you wish to add photos to? I can walk you through it, from finding the photo, to teaching the photographer how to change their license from a copyright to one of the (2 options out of six) Creative Commons licenses that we accept, so you can upload the photos under a "free image" status too Wikimedia Commons, where we store all uploads. Then, is the simple part of adding the image from Commons to the Wikipedia article you are working upon. Normally, I find all the images I upload from Flickr (or I meet professional photographers there who allow me to select photos from their pro-websites to use). If I'm not able to help you in the manner that you need, I can certainly refer you to the great editors here who taught me, step by step. I know the photos thing is really distressing, so believe me, you sure aren't alone in this!! I've been doing it for years, that's the only difference! Keep the Faith! ----- OH, and it turned out a WHOLE lot EASIER than I ever guessed, too, so there is hope! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 03:32, 10 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

RE: Spread Eagle edit

No problem.

About the album being considered a "classic", it is unspecified, even in the source, as to who calls it a classic. Instead of just stating that it is considered such, there could be a critical reception area for the band's article (or, since it's about the particular album, on the album's page, which doesn't exist yet), maybe such as x reviewer stating "[this feedback about the album]". The sentence could instead state something along the lines of "Spread Eagle's self titled debut album received a generally positive response by critics such as [critic 1, critic 2, and so on]. Putting it out there that it is considered a "classic", even if it is not representative of the author's thoughts, it still somewhat at conflict with WP:NPOV. Also, see WP:PEACOCK for the relevant issue of "peacock terms".

You can go ahead and add whatever you feel necessary about MCA's role in Spread Eagle's career. You may or may not be able to add videos concerning that, but I have seen music videos be displayed on the Seven Kingdoms (band) page before. I guess there are a few people who have some problems with sourcing videos, even though I've done it before (you probably shouldn't do it as a first resort; maybe put them in the external links area or something). For info on sources, see WP:RS and WP:V. And about them blaming MCA, that can probably be put on there, as long as there is neutrailty in the section.

Checking up on you :) edit

Hello! You left a note on my talk page, but I never found out if I'd helped you or not. I know it's difficult to begin editing (contributing) to the Wikipedia! I think, especially if there isn't a quick connection with others here, with the various rules, finding a spot where you feel most comfortable isn't easy. But there are editors here that appreciate new people coming in, and it's my hope that if you want to reach out for information, that you will contact one of us. With all sincerity! --Leahtwosaints (talk) 22:09, 18 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Sorry edit

Is it possible to have a new image uploaded that won't effect him as much? Anyone with a digital camera can upload a better one, or email to you for upload and they have 30 days to send an email to OTRS in commons. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:OTRS --Canoe1967 (talk) 14:10, 4 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

July 2012 edit

Your recent editing history at Rob De Luca shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. GB fan 14:06, 4 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please stop removing the image when you have NO policy based reason to do so. Personality rights in the U.S. have to do with the commercial exploitation of an image. This is not happening here. --NeilN talk to me 12:25, 6 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for making legal threats or taking legal action, as you did at Talk:Rob De Luca. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

You are not allowed to edit Wikipedia while the threats stand or the legal action is unresolved. Orange Mike | Talk 14:14, 6 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I am sorry, I did not mean to threaten anyone with a legal step, I am afraid myself and meant it as a warning. I posted the picture to Wiki commons from a country outside America and they have pretty tough personality rights there, I'm not sure about the legal situation. I was confident I could remove it if Rob De Luca ever has trouble with it, now it turns out it's not. I don't think he's gonna start any legal trouble, he would have told me. But this went so big here, somebody else might start a precedence case in his name. I don't know I'm not a lawyer. Thats why. Everybody is telling me I should post a new picture, being blocked I can't If I find a new picture, is it enough to ask for being unblocked then? Or do I have to do it immediately?

Moonslide (talk) 14:55, 6 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Accept reason:

Since you've clarified what's going on here, I can unblock you. Make sure you work with the other editors involved in this, and it should be resolved. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 15:13, 6 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

I've fixed your unblock request and support your immediate unblocking. --NeilN talk to me 14:59, 6 July 2012 (UTC)Reply
