Welcome! edit

Hi fellow Wikipedian, and a warm welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you have enjoyed editing as much as I did so far and decide to stay. Unfamiliar with the features and workings of Wikipedia? Don't fret! Be Bold! Here's some good links for your reference and that'll get you started in no time!

Most Wikipedians would prefer to just work on articles of their own interest. But if you have some free time to spare, here are some open tasks that you may want to help out :

  • RC Patrol - Keeping a lookout for vandalism.
  • Cleanup - Help make unreadable articles readable.
  • Requests - Wanted on WP, but hasn't been created.
  • Merge - Combining duplicate articles into one.
  • Wikiprojects - So many to join, so many to choose from...Take your pick!

Oh yes, don't forget to sign when you write on talk pages, simply type four tildes, like this: (~~~~). This will automatically add your name and the time after your comments. And finally, if you have any questions or doubts, don't hesitate to contact me on my talk page. Once again, welcome! =) BorgQueen 17:35, 23 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Welcome. edit

Marvellous first edit. Mine was a copyedit of Anna of Kashin. :) However, you may wish to look up how to write references: a simple url usually doesn't cut it. Check out WP:REF for the Wikipedia way, and take a look at Jake Gyllenhaal for an example of kickass references in action. :D Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 16:05, 24 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Lyrics edit

Sorry to bring you bad news, but the lyrics of any song (unless written by someone dead more than 70 years) are copyright, and so we aren't allowed to use them in Wikipedia. I've removed them from Blue Orchid. Thanks for trying to improve the article! Even linking to lyrics sites (except official ones) isn't allowed. Notinasnaid 21:15, 18 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Rating the ToK edit

Hi. I'm trying to get members of the Psychology Project together and rate both the quality and importance of the Tree of Knowledge System. Hope you're interested. Have a great day! EPM 22:10, 17 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello edit

Hello Moonksy29. How are you? Anyways I am willing to adopt you if you are interested. Anyways, see you around! -- Cheers! :) Zazzer 23:11, 15 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello! edit

Ok, I've adopted you and cleaned up Lambeth Articles - it's a good idea to provide inline citations (page numbers, that sort of thing), which you can study in more depth here. Damn fine start article, congrats. If someone is likely to put a shorter search term in, you can create a "redirect", which will take the reader straight to your article. Search for the term you want to redirect and open the editing box. There is a redirect button just underneath the editing box, click on it and insert the name of the article you want to direct to. Then save the page, and it should redirect. Welcome to Wikipedia! Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 23:11, 16 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Excellent edit

Great to hear you're editing. But don't remove messages from my talkpage, k? :) Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 19:21, 20 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

They're more reminders for me so I don't forget about them in the hectic business of my wikilife. We can certainly work together on Stephen Fry if you would like, there are some quite active editors on it and you'd get a great deal of experience in collaboration. :) Ga stands for Good Article status, but I've pretty much come to the conclusion GA is worthless (basically one person comes along, looks at your article, and passes or fails it, which is prone to bias). I write to FA standards now. You graduate whenever you feel you can handle Wikipedia on your own - possibly not right now, eh? Btw, what do you want me to call you? Moonsky, moonksy, or your real name? Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 21:36, 25 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Dev would be great. Did you intend to just overwrite your signature? (Btw, if you get on MSN, teaching you in the way of the wiki would be a lot easier...) Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 21:42, 25 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

It's right next to your shift key! Anyway, good night. :) Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 21:49, 25 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ruback and Pandey's Study on Temperature and Affiliation edit

The article Ruback and Pandey's Study on Temperature and Affiliation has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki 04:08, 1 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Better send me what you wrote. Btw, if you're that embarrassed about your name, WP:CHU is thataway. Personally though, I find it kinda endearing, the voice in my head pronounces it "Moonkissy". :) Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 11:49, 7 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Keep going... :D Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 14:35, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of Deregowski's Cross-Cultural Study on Perception edit

An editor has nominated Deregowski's Cross-Cultural Study on Perception, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Deregowski's Cross-Cultural Study on Perception and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 03:15, 23 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Mental Health Alliance edit

The article Mental Health Alliance has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence of meeting WP:ORG or WP:GNG, even after being tagged for notability for more than six years.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
