John Robert Mills edit

Please stop uploading smaller size images of the same person. It is not the size of the image that is important but the funtion "upright" that you set on the article. I have changed it in your article of JRM to show you. Please read Wikipedia Help!

Pierre cb (talk) 12:29, 26 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi Pierre. The reason for uploading photos of same subject is that the originals from PhilipMillsUK were all marked for deletion, probably for copyright issues. The photos I uploaded are smaller but sufficient for purpose and have correct crown copyright permission. Moonbouncer54 (talk) 16:08, 26 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • If large version are copyrighted, smaller ones would be too. Pierre cb (talk) 15:26, 26 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • The issue is the way they were uploaded, I believe. i.e. without the {{OGL}}. So the photos are free to use subject to attributing crown copyright etc Moonbouncer54 (talk) 16:08, 26 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi Pierre. Is it ok to increase the 'upright' size to 1.07? This makes the photos very slightly wider than the infobox, but looks better IMHO Moonbouncer54 (talk) 16:08, 26 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

  • It is up to you but the template is made for standard photos. The rendering varies accoding to the means you consult the article from. Pierre cb (talk) 15:26, 26 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • Thank you for advice Moonbouncer54 (talk) 16:08, 26 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Pierre. Thanks for your knowledge. Is it acceptable to add 'British' before scientist ?

  • I have answered on your draft page about this. Pierre cb (talk) 15:26, 26 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • Thank you Pierre. Hopefully the article will be approved soon. When it is, does the 'Draft: John Robert Mills' become the title? i.e. John Robert Mills (without the 'Draft: prefix). I ask because if it does, I can keep the sub-headings as they are without a title heading which then makes the TOC look better (without the 1.1, 1.2 etc). Or is there a better way to achieve TOC labels of 1, 2, 3, 4 etc but still using Title? Moonbouncer54 (talk) 16:08, 26 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Great work there on getting the license, but the copyright statement cannot be "CC-BY-SA 3.0 for Wikipedia", it has to be this text is "CC-BY-SA 3.0 for every, full stop". Almost there :) jcc (tea and biscuits) 09:40, 30 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi Jcc. Could you advise on how that can be achieved please Moonbouncer54 (talk) 09:48, 30 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I seem to have missed out a word- "CC-BY-SA 3.0 for every page". All you would need to change is the title on the website from "Copyright Permission for Wikipedia" to "Copyright", and add a note stating it overrides the footer. jcc (tea and biscuits) 10:04, 30 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
Excellent. Consider it done, or will be in the next few minutes :) and thanks for help Moonbouncer54 (talk) 10:17, 30 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
