Help me! edit

I simply wanted to better express the English generated by a translation of a page in Dutch. Quite why Montague Phillips, a minor 20C English classical composer who merits attention should not have his entry in English was a surprise. Please help me with... I re-registerd as my email address has changed and then became mired in a welter of page after page of complex instructions about my IP address etc etc etc - and have got nowhere. I appreciate that it's necessary to catch troublemakers but I doubt that anyone is likely ever to be interested in the man *and* be willing to contribute - me apart, so can someone please organise this for me. I do not see anything showing an attempt to create the page Montague Phillips recently. If you want to create a page on them you are certainly free to do so. I highly recommend reading all the advice in the box at the top of the page, especially about creating your first article and about referencing. Using the Article Wizard tool and/or your sandbox are also highly advised. If you have specific questions about the feedback you previously received, I will be happy to answer them. I hope this helps. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 16:12, 6 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

That is a nice offer, but I don't see how that is a request for more help. You seem to be offering your help to some-one else that might want to create this article, which is admirable of you. To make your offer more visible, however, I might suggest the following:
  1. Click This Link.
  2. Click the link in the Table of Contents for the category of article you would like created.
  3. Click the link for the the section heading that most closely applies to your article.
  4. Hold down the Shift and Alt keys and hit the "E" key (this brings up the edit window).
  5. Find a blank space under the subsection heading you think is applicable. These are set off from the main text by rows of equal signs on either side. For example the "North America" subsection heading for "History" looks like this: ==North America==
  6. Start a new request with a blank line.
  7. Type * {{req|Montague Phillips}}
  8. Add more information about what the the article is about, what the issue is, why it matters, and whatever links about the article you can supply. I would also state that you are willing to help provide Dutch-language translation help.
  9. Finish your posting by typing four tilde characters in a row to sign your post. Like this: ~~~~
  10. Below the main text box is a smaller one that has the label "Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)". Type something like: "requesting new article about Montague Phillips"
  11. Click "Show Preview" to make sure it looks good.
  12. Scroll all the way back down to the bottom where you will see the edit window again.
  13. Make any changes necessary
  14. Click "Save Changes"

I can't guarantee that this will get another editor to create this article, but it may be your best shot. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 21:09, 7 June 2017 (UTC)Reply
