After reading his article and talking to you, I now have his A-flat Magnificat going round in my head! (Not that I'm complaining - it's a fine piece of music.) I think the tag you've placed on the photo should prevent it being deleted for now, although we might be able to work out the best tag together. (Image licensing is a tricky business and I try to avoid it whenever possible, but as I offered...(!)) It looks to be an old photograph anyway, judging from his appearance (in his 40s?), and so could well be out of copyright anyway. Do you have a idea of when the photo was taken, and who by? George Jennings South Western Pottery

Thanks for linking the Parkstone page (which I started) with your article on George Jennings. My father, grandfather and great-grandfather, as well as various other members of my family, worked at the Pottery in Pottery Road, Parkstone, during a large part of the 20th century - indeed until its takeover and subsequent closure, when my father was made redundant. Have you any further information on the Pottery itself, as opposed to the (nonethelss interesting) biographical detail on George Jennings? If so, perhaps between us we could produce an article on the Pottery? I have several old photos of the site, including the kilns, and of the Peckett tank engine 'George Jennings' with my great-grandfather on the footplate. Was George Jennings one of your ancestors? As the herbal medicine industry is currently facing the biggest shake-up ever, due to the April 2011 implementation of the European Directive 2005 - the Traditional Herbal Medicines Product Directive, a large proportion of the traditional industry will have to withdraw its products and many will close for ever. WH Box, in particular, was of significant importance in this sector. Products are preserved in the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's museum and it's memorabilila is collectable. There are several blogs which still discuss these Victorian herbalists to whom I have referred this page. I am aware that I am a novice to Wikipedia in terms of style etc. but this does not mean the content is not of historic interest. The hebal medicines market has grown consistently in the UK by average 9% per annum continuously since 2002 (Mintel Report 2007) and there is a revived and grwoing interest in the history of herbal medicine. ArbCom 2017 election voter message
