Speedy deletion nomination of Gourmet Ads edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Gourmet Ads requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. jsfouche ☽☾Talk 14:26, 5 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

December 2010 edit

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Gourmet Ads. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 16:48, 5 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with Gourmet Ads. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia.

Even if you believe that the new references you add address the issue of notability, you still mustn't remove speedy deletion tags from articles you have created. You have to leave it for an administrator or an uninvolved regular editor to make that call (which means that you shouldn't ask other people to remove the tag either - you need to leave it to run its course.)

The Reuters reference is not a reliable source, since it is a press release. Once again, please do take the time to familiarise yourself with what English Wikipedia requires when it comes to reliable sources. Thank you! bonadea contributions talk 07:04, 6 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Today's featured article/September 9, 2012 edit

This is an automated message from VWBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Today's featured article/September 9, 2012, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Wikipedia:Today's featured article/September 9, 2012. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. VWBot (talk) 10:48, 10 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Article moved back to draft edit

It is very bad form to copy a rejected draft article to main space without addressing the concerns of the reviewer. I have moved Stevie Thomas (restauranteur) back to Draft:Stevie Thomas (restauranteur) because all you did was delete some sections without improving on the sources, none of which show any in-depth coverage of the subject. Please improve it there. The main space article title is now protected from recreation. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A request has been filed for the title of Kelly Hyman (lawyer) requesting that it be added to the title blacklist. This has been done because the article appears to be a recreation, under a different title, of an article which is itself currently protected against recreation. Please note that titles used to circumvent the protection policy are often given the same level of protection as the original title the author is trying to circumvent, or are added to the title blacklist.

If you feel that the topic of the article meets our notability guidelines, please request a deletion review or use a request for unprotection instead.

Please note that repeated recreation of an article against a consensus to delete is considered disruptive and grounds for a block. Thank you. GSS (talk|c|em) 09:32, 30 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello Mohamed Ouda. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to Black hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Mohamed Ouda. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Mohamed Ouda|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. GSS (talk|c|em) 02:46, 16 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

So, even accepting your version of events, your actions here would be in violation of the WP:PROXYING policy, as the users who you helped appear to be blocked paid editors, making this block valid. In a wider question, you’ll need to explain how articles you created have word-for-word copying from articles created by blocked accounts and why some of them follow formats we’d expect for paid editors on this project. If you have edited for pay, you’ll need to disclose it in your next unblock request. TonyBallioni (talk) 06:58, 20 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • Thank you Robert McClenon , I can't comment there as I am blocked , but this is my only account and I don't have any sock puppets , so please what is the reason for the blocking Mohamed Ouda (talk) 07:02, 19 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
User:Mohamed Ouda - I did not block you, and I think that the reason for the block is incorrect. I do not think that you should have been blocked for sockpuppetry. You were blocked by User:Yunshui. Your editing shows that your edits to the English Wikipedia do give the appearance of undisclosed paid editing, and I would not disagree with a block for undisclosed paid editing. The titles that you have given to articles that you created, such as Kelly Hyman (lawyer), when there is no need for disambiguation, appear to be gaming the system. Robert McClenon (talk) 07:17, 19 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Do you really want your editing on the English Wikipedia to result in stewards or the Wikimedia Foundation globally blocking you? Robert McClenon (talk) 07:17, 19 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Thank you for clarification Robert McClenon , Those pages was a help for friends , and please if this is the block reason , I apologize for that and I will delete my edits , and could you please help me in reactivate my account Mohamed Ouda (talk) 08:39, 19 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Who are those friends ? Can you link to their on-wiki accounts? How did they know/contact you? WBGconverse 09:39, 19 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
And, how did you select the articles, that you've created so far? WBGconverse 09:41, 19 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi WBG , they are online friends from social media , and I don't know their on-wiki account . and I select the articles which I think suitable to be published on Wikipedia . Mohamed Ouda (talk) 15:40, 19 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

It won't cost much to be more truthful. Try that. WBGconverse 15:45, 19 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
User:Mohamed Ouda - If what you are saying is true, and that you have created or promoted these articles for friends that you have made on social media, and that you have not been paid, then you have nonetheless been using your knowledge of Wikipedia to assist your friends in gaming the system to create articles. If you have in fact been selecting the articles that you think are suitable to be published on Wikipedia based on your judgment, then you have shown, and should learn, that you apparently do not understand what are notable articles for the English Wikipedia and should not be disrupting the English Wikipedia by evading create-protection. If so, you have disrupted the English Wikipedia just as much as you would have by paid editing, for nothing. If so, you would have done better for yourself to get paid, and it would have been just as disruptive to the English Wikipedia. If you really want to re-instate your account on the English Wikipedia, my advice would be to admit that you are a paid editor, and accept an infinite (not indefinite) topic-ban from creating articles in article space, and you might be unblocked. Robert McClenon (talk) 18:47, 19 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
User:Yunshui - It is clear to me that User:Mohamed Ouda is not a sockpuppet. They have been editing the English Wikipedia since 2008. They have been creating articles inappropriately, and that is blockable, but it is not sockpuppetry. (If they have been a sockpuppeteer, that is a different issue.) I suggest that their block be lifted, although it may then be immediately replaced by another block for disruptive editing and probable undisclosed paid editing. Robert McClenon (talk) 18:47, 19 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Given the issue I have raised at AN of also proxying for a banned editor, I'd suggest that the block stays as-is until the details are straightened out. Black Kite (talk) 23:38, 19 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Kindly accept my apologizes and below are the list of paid editing articles I contributed in it

  • EverlyWell
  • Right to Succeed
  • Ray Jefferson
  • Christos Cotsakos Mohamed Ouda (talk) 21:32, 20 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Nope. The list will be a lot lot bigger. Try again, bearing in mind that I already have a pretty good idea of the answer. WBGconverse 03:36, 21 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • @Black Kite, Robert McClenon, and Winged Blades of Godric: I’ve changed the block rationale to be advertising and UPE, keeping it indefinite. I did this based on being aware of some of the CU data on the socks that had cross-over and as well as some other off-wiki evidence. What I think went on here is that we had multiple freelancers for the same client. That’s more than enough for a block, imo, but I’m also willing to change the rationale to reflect that.
At this point your best chance for an unblock is to wait 6 months and ask for the standard offer after disclosing every article you’ve been paid to edit. TonyBallioni (talk) 15:33, 21 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
User:TonyBallioni - Thank you. I am willing to leave the matter alone for now. We have a deep disconnect between his status on the Arabic Wikipedia and on the English Wikipedia. There is nothing that we can do here on the English Wikipedia about that. I would have preferred a community ban, but I see that this is a case where the policy against outing is used as a shield to hide behind. Robert McClenon (talk) 16:52, 21 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

I find it very hard to believe that Tres Birds Workshop was not a work-for-hire, and I rather doubt adding that one to the list would make it complete. Yes - not to belabour the point, but I remember at least two other articles connected to Paul Wilson, and a cursory look over this talk page's history shows a number of other articles that would need to be included in the list. --bonadea contributions talk 13:37, 24 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • Hi Mohamad Ouda, so, as I think you probably know, I do some work behind the scenes with ar.wiki and so am somewhat familiar with this case both from the original block and this appeal. I have mixed feelings here. People I trust (such as علاء) have vouched for you to me privately, and I consider that worth a lot. At the same time, I do think Huon raises legitimate concerns. I think a way to deal with this as a compromise would be to require that you not create any articles on companies or living people as a condition of your unblock. This would allow you to contribute to articles on Egypt, while preventing you from editing articles that are most likely to be used by advertisers.
@Yunshui and Huon: would the two of you be fine with this conditional unblock. I highly value both of your opinions, so I'd like to hear them. Mohamad Ouda, Yunshui doesn't edit on the weekends, and it is custom on en.wiki not to unblock without discussing with the blocking admin first, so it will likely be a few days. Sorry for the delay, but unblocks are busy here. TonyBallioni (talk) 02:41, 7 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi TonyBallioni thank you for your reply , and I am OK with the condition I will not create articles about companies or living people and all my work will be on historic topics Mohamed Ouda (talk) 08:27, 7 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • I'd not object to giving this a try. Huon (talk) 00:46, 8 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
Getting Mohamed Ouda to even admit to paid editing has been rather like pulling teeth...
"I wasn't getting paid, they were just friends..."
"Okay, not so much friends as people on social media..."
"Okay, I was paid, but only for these articles..."
"Well alright, there were a few others..."
"Yeah, that's definitely all of them."
"Ah, well now that you mention it there were a few more..."
Given that history, I don't really see a good reason to trust this user, and I'm thus not exactly in favour of unblocking, even with the proposed restriction. However, I won't raise any objection if you guys see fit to do so. Yunshui  09:30, 9 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi (talk|c|em) , No I don't have else to tell , and the problem is those pages were created over long period of time so that why I forgot some of them , but above is the full listMohamed Ouda (talk) 08:07, 10 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

But that's also not correct. Remembering all the pages you created or edited for pay several years later must be difficult, I understand that, but it only takes a few minutes of looking through your talk page history to find e.g. Black Media Month, DVDLink.ca, Ensquared, Clinton Cimring, and The Calm Centre - and that's only some of the articles not mentioned in the list above. I wasn't going to post about this since you said you'll only work with articles that are unrelated to living people and existing companies and products, but your reply to GSS is a little bit concerning. --bonadea contributions talk 10:00, 10 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

I'm afraid I do not discuss unblocking via email. As you have lost talk page access, you will need to use UTRS. There is a concern with lost trust amid the spectre of undisclosed paid editing. I sense an urgency to your desire to be unblocked. You are able to edit on other projects, but you are desirous of unblocking here. . . . If you can adequately address these concerns, feel free to submit another request via UTRS. I see contradictory information from people I trust. I would value input from @TonyBallioni and Yamla:.
