Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Remote Technologies, Inc. edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Remote Technologies, Inc. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.rticorp.com/about. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of User:Modethrow/sandbox edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Modethrow/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. creffett (talk) 02:21, 21 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

September 2019 edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or promotion. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Seraphimblade Talk to me 03:47, 21 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

The intent was to add my employer -- RTI -- to the same categories as Control4 and other much larger competitors in the home automation space. It's clear that my writing was not as dispassionate as it should have been. I will take a week to read your articles on proper writing so as to not trigger flags for advertising or spam. I'm not sure how to use diff to explain how I'd do things differently because I think my page has been deleted. Thank you for your consideration. Modethrow (talk) 01:12, 23 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

You have violated the conflict of interest and paid editing policies by editing about your employer. You won't be unblocked to continue to edit about your employer or anything related to your conflict of interest. If you want to edit about subjects for which you have no COI, please tell what those might be along with your agreement to not edit about COI-related subjects. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 07:09, 23 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I have abandoned efforts to create the RTI page. I do have a conflict of interest at this time. Thank you for educating me on this issue. I am requesting an unblock. Modethrow (talk) 12:58, 27 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Accept reason:

Based on the further clarification of your editing intent in your most recent request, and the discussion that followed it, you are unblocked. In addition to not creating RTI in mainspace, please be certain you familiarize yourself with WP:COI and WP:PAID as these impose obligations beyond simple limitations on the creation of new articles. If, at any time, you need clarification of a policy, don't hesitate to ask at the WP:TEAHOUSE. Thank you for your enthusiasm and interest in contributing to Wikipedia! Okay, so what do you want to edit about instead? 331dot (talk) 12:59, 27 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

I'm a technologist. That would be my primary focus, areas of tech. Modethrow (talk) 13:02, 27 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
Since I reviewed a prior request by you, someone else will review this one. If you make any subsequent comment, please make them as standard unformatted comments, as you only need one open unblock request at a time. I've removed the formatting from your above comment for that reason. 331dot (talk) 13:08, 27 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
