Topic choice assignment

edit

Megan, you need to list three possible topics on your Userpage that you may want to work on for your main Wikipedia article project. Gseidman (talk) 20:28, 15 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Adding a reference assignment

edit

If you refer back to your change, you'll notice that another Wikipedian reverted your change due to incomprehensible grammar. Please take steps to make sure that your content is grammatically correct. Otherwise, it will be removed. You also need to put in the citation in an accepted format (E.g., APA style). You should not link to websites for scholarly articles. You also can never link from Moodle directly because only people who have access to our course Moodle site are able to access those links.Gseidman (talk) 01:37, 25 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Feedback on references

edit

These references look useful, but make sure that you have a good number of references that deal specifically with explaining the theory, not just its application. Also, the formatting is odd on some references with the spacing, making them appear broken up into different sections on the page. Also, be careful about the format for citing chapters in edited books. You must include the name of the author of the chapter, not credit the entire work to the editor (see APA manual for instructions on citing chapters in edited books).Gseidman (talk) 21:41, 6 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Feedback on outline

This outline should be posted on the talk page of the construal level theory article, not your own talk page. This will allow other Wikipedians to comment on your plan for the article. They will not see it here on your user page.

The article currently begins with a definition and example, but an additional example might be useful. I would think that explaining temporal, spatial, etc. as they relate to this theory would not require a separate section for each. The first place you should start in understanding this theory is to read an overview of it. I would recommend that Trope and Liberman (2010) article that is cited in the existing Wikipedia article. The overview of the theory should form the basis of the first part of the article.

Once you explain the theory, you should go onto a section that describes different applications of the theory, with a subsection for each application (e.g., consumer behavior). Currently, you have a lot of references dealing with consumer behavior, but there are other applications of this theory as well, so you should do some research to figure out what those are.

Finally, it doesn't make sense to conclude your article with one study. Many studies should be described throughout your entire article. Gseidman (talk) 22:18, 15 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
