Beau Coup edit

Hello. Please don't move Beau Coup back to some variant of Dennis Lewin again. The consensus at the AFD was that tbe band was just about notable enough for an article, but that Lewin was not. Please don't try to undo that decision unilaterally. Thanks, Ruby Murray 19:43, 23 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

I apologize Ruby. I tried to take it away after I did it but couldn't find it. I've decided to work on cleaning up the Beau Coup page and stop fighting a battle I will likely not win, lol. I made some edits and will be uploading some pictures as well. Thanks for your help! Mmcard59 (talk) 21:50, 23 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
Hi Ruby, could you please help me with the pictures that were deleted from the Beau Coup page. Dennis Lewin sent the email yesterday giving approval to use it but they haven't been restored yet. Is there something else that needs to be done on my end? Thanks! Mmcard59 (talk) 12:12, 26 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for March 24 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Beau Coup, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page John Gorman (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Orphaned non-free image File:Dennis Lewin, Bill March, Frank Amato, Tommy Amato.png edit

Thanks for uploading File:Dennis Lewin, Bill March, Frank Amato, Tommy Amato.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:32, 19 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Good morning! Amherst Records owns the copyrights to both pictures used from the Born & Raised on Rock & Roll album. On March 26th Leonard Silver, President of Amherst Records, sent an email to permissions allowing me to use both pictures on the Beau Coup Wikipedia page. Please let me know what needs to be done to keep the photo in place. Mr. Silver sent me a copy of the email so I know for sure it was sent. Maybe the issue is the photographs which were taken by Jeff Bishop who was contracted by Amherst to take the pictures. Do we need permission from Mr. Bishop as well?.. Please advise! File permission problem with File:Dennis Lewin, WCLV.png edit

Thanks for uploading File:Dennis Lewin, WCLV.png, which you've attributed to A VRT notice was applied over 60 day(s) ago, but no message at VRTS has been found since this tag was applied.. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 23:38, 12 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Photos. edit

Hi, I was the original uploader of the 3 photos on the Beau Coup page which you deleted yesterday. I was wondering why they were deleted when the copyright holder of all 3 photos emailed permission to use the pictures on the Beau Coup page back in May. Please advice.... Thank you! Mmcard59 (talk) 20:06, 13 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

From what I can see the copyright holder did not nominate a free license so the images have to instead meet all of the non-free content criteria. In this case they needed to meet point #8 by significantly increasing reader's understanding of the topic in a way that either text or freely licensed images could not.- Peripitus (Talk) 21:59, 13 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your response. I'm not quite understanding what I should do. Was the problem in the way I uploaded them? I spoke with both copyright holders of the photos and each of them gave me permission to use the photos on the Beau Coup page. I asked them to send an email to the appropriate email to permissions, which they did. Would you be so kind as to tell me exactly what I need to do to get these pictures restored? Thank you in advance for your help. Mmcard59 (talk) 19:08, 14 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
