ST2 Cardiac Biomarker

Hi. Thanks for your contributions to the IL1RL1 article. However I think the article name should be named after the protein (a more fundamental concept) rather than its application as a biomarker. Granted, through your additions, the article currently has a lot more detail about the biomarker than the protein. However quite a bit is also known about the protein and this information could be used to expand the article. Thoughts? Boghog (talk) 22:29, 19 January 2012 (UTC)

You are absolutely correct in that IL1RL1 is a broader and more fundamental concept than ST2 as a biomarker. If the concern is to have a broader scope, why not then have two separate pages for both the protein IL1RL1 and ST2 with the appropriate links between each other? The IL1RL1 page would focus on the protein and the ST2 page would focus on the application as a cardiac biomarker. My main concern is hoping people who lack knowledge in the field and are looking for information on ST2, don't get turned around by having IL1RL1 heading the searches.

As of now, Brain Natriuretic Peptides and NT-proBNP both have separate and distinct pages. ST2 should have its own page, especially given the rising awareness of it in the medical field. What do you think? Mizooks (talk) 23:10, 19 January 2012 (UTC)

Citation suggestion

If you haven't seen this yet, please check out User:Diberri's Wikipedia template filling tool (instructions). Given a PubMed ID, one can quickly produce a full citation that can be copied and pasted into a Wikipedia article.
