Hello, I'm Apparition11. I wanted to let you know that I removed an external link you added to the page Republic Day (India), because it seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. Speedy deletion nomination of Somvar

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Somvar, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. (See section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Wikipedia has standards for the minimum necessary information to be included in short articles; you can see these at Wikipedia:Stub. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
  • It is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. (See section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Wikipedia has standards for the minimum necessary information to be included in short articles; you can see these at Wikipedia:Stub. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here.   Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Chhath. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you.   Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Chhath. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Sama Chakeva

Hello Mishra.sujata26. I fixed up your draft and moved it into article space. Thank you for creating an article on an important and interesting Indian festival. Best wishes, Voceditenore (talk) 14:11, 18 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

This is your last warning. The next time you insert a spam link, as you did at Sama Chakeva, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. Apparition11 Complaints/Mistakes 05:50, 28 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours for persistently using Wikipedia to promote your web site. You have received a number of messages explaining that doing so is unacceptable, the first one over ten months ago, but you have continued to post links to draw attention to your website to articles. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}. However, you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  JamesBWatson (talk) 11:59, 29 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

This is your only warning; if you insert a spam link to Wikipedia again, as you did at Datta Jayanti, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. Apparition11 Complaints/Mistakes 13:08, 16 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked from editing again, as you probably expected would happen, for continuing to use Wikipedia for promotion. Examination of yur editing history shows that over 90% of your edits have been either adding the same spam link to articles, or other edits related to doing so (such as minor clean-up of formatting after adding the link, defending your spamming on talk pages, etc). Because there have been a very small number of edits that are not obviously promotional in intention, the block is not an indefinite one, but has been set to three months. However, if you return to the same kind of editing after the block expires then you may well be blocked indefinitely. JamesBWatson (talk) 09:13, 8 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Somvar

edit

Hello Mishra.sujata26. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Somvar".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Somvar}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 12:47, 22 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
