Thai eggplants edit

Hi Minerv. I'm not an expert on eggplants, I just eat them. The thing is, I noticed a few years ago that a nationalistic Laotian contributor to Wikipedia had started the article Lao eggplant. I don't think that there any differences between Thai and Lao eggplants and I suspect that it was created because your average Lao nationalist hates to be reminded of anything Thai. Could you have a look at that article perhaps and see if these two should be merged? And under what name? Regards, Takeaway (talk) 22:34, 19 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi Takeaway, I'm not an expert too  . In this page (Asian eggplants): Thai Purple, Thai Green, Thai Yellow, Thai White / Lao Green Stripe, Lao Purple Stripe, Lao Lavender, Lao White, are cultivars of Solanum melongena. And for Solanum virginianum, common names are yellow-fruit nightshade, yellow berried nightshade, Thai green eggplant, and, Thai tripped eggplant (here). If that can help you for corrected and maybe to created Asian eggplant. Sorry for my poor english. Regards, Minerv (talk) 07:39, 23 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
