User talk:Mindmatrix/2018
Hello, Mindmatrix. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Rifts Collectible Card Game, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:
- edit the page
- remove the text that looks like this:
{{proposed deletion/dated...}}
- save the page
Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Deletion discussion about Rifts Collectible Card Game
editHello, Mindmatrix,
I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Rifts Collectible Card Game should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rifts Collectible Card Game .
If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
Thanks,
DYK for Metropolitan Theatre (Winnipeg)
editOn 8 January 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Metropolitan Theatre (Winnipeg), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the initial plan for the renovation of the Metropolitan Theatre in Winnipeg was for a rock and roll museum? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Metropolitan Theatre (Winnipeg). You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Metropolitan Theatre (Winnipeg)), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
"Cabal of Naples" listed at Redirects for discussion

Speedy deletion nomination of Rifts Collectible Card Game
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Rifts Collectible Card Game, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. John from Idegon (talk) 23:26, 28 January 2018 (UTC)
- If you think the discussion was closed improperly, you take it to WP:DRV. Restoring an article deleted through process immediately like you did is nothing but disruptive. As the closer suggested, you've been quite disruptive enough already. Continuing would not be suggested. John from Idegon (talk) 23:30, 28 January 2018 (UTC)
- I didn't restore a deleted article, I restored a redirect that existed well before the article that replaced it; all subsequent edits (ie - the article) remain deleted. Check the deleted contributions history - the redirect was created four years before the deleted article replaced it, and I restored only one of 26 edits. The redirect was not mentioned in the discussion, and the closing admin didn't bother reviewing the article's history before closing the AfD.
- With respect to the claim "As the closer suggested, you've been quite disruptive enough already", please point me to the relevant discussion, as I cannot find it linked in your comments above or from any entries listed at Special:WhatLinksHere/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Rifts_Collectible_Card_Game, on your talk page, or on User talk:Spartaz, and I'd like to respond to such claims against me. (And WTF do you mean by "Continuing would not be suggested" - don't be so condescending; what am I "continuing"? I restored one of 26 edits and stopped there.) Mindmatrix 14:01, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
- @John from Idegon: It's been almost nine months, and you have yet to respond to my comment above. Please support your claim of "you've been quite disruptive enough already". Mindmatrix 21:26, 9 October 2018 (UTC)

- @John from Idegon: You've been on WP for over six years and should know there are clear policies about behaviour towards other users (eg - Wikipedia:Civility and Wikipedia:No personal attacks). You don't get to make baseless accusations against another editor. Support your claims against me, or withdraw your comment. If you refuse, I'll consider this a failed dispute resolution and ask for an independent review at the Administrators' noticeboard. Mindmatrix 12:16, 10 October 2018 (UTC)
- That's funny. You do whatever makes you happy. Do not ping me or post on my talk page again, unless required by policy. Subject was closed 9 months ago and no one will do a thing about it. There is nothing whatsoever that requires me to communicate with you. End of story. Drop it. John from Idegon (talk) 16:52, 10 October 2018 (UTC)
- @John from Idegon: I'm not asking about the redirect, which was already restored (see Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2018 October 9) as "non-controversial" contradicting your claim. I'm asking you to withdraw your false allegations against me, or provide proof for them. Mindmatrix 17:58, 10 October 2018 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:The Walrus, October 2013 cover.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:The Walrus, October 2013 cover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:47, 17 February 2018 (UTC)
The article Kingfest Music Festival has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Minor festival, fails WP:GNG, and the portion of WP:N that requires national/worldwide attention.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ♠PMC♠ (talk) 04:59, 12 April 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Ontario Horticultural Association
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Ontario Horticultural Association, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
Don't revert what you don't understand
editUnder Dutch naming conventions, the prefix is lowercase when the full name is used, and uppercase when the last name only is used. See https://www.dutchgenealogy.nl/how-to-capitalize-dutch-names-with-prefixes/
Please do not revert corrections, especially without research or justification. Thanks.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.39.100.192 (talk • contribs)
- I'm well aware of that. Is someone living in Canada, born in South Africa of a Dutch father, adhering to this convention. I've never seen his name as 'De Raadt', only 'de Raadt'. There are plenty of people in Canada (and the US) who are descendants of people from various European countries that do not adhere to those countries' conventions (and sometimes spelling). To claim that I don't understand, or worse, that I didn't provide justification when I most clearly stated "that's not how he uses it" in the edit summary is misrepresenting me. I haven't found many examples of his surname without his given name, but the paper "Cryptography As an Operating System Service: A Case Study" (of which he was an author) cites his last name as 'de Raadt' on page 3, and the references section has his name in all-caps, with only the 'R' raised. Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages.
