Managing a conflict of interest

edit

Hello, Mihi Credite. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Evan McKie, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Edwardx (talk) 18:10, 30 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

I don’t have any external relationships with the subject. Unfortunately, we have discovered that certain editors of this page in the past, have. "Appropriate teams have been delegated to make sure no further lack of information or aggressive revisions takes place on this page." There seems to be a constant need to cut out certain important information about this person’s life. This is strongly discouraged & appears personal because of how frequently it occurs. Please do check terms of use. Mihi Credite (talk) 08:27, 16 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your reply, Mihi Credite. However, "Appropriate teams have been delegated to make sure no further lack of information or aggressive revisions takes place on this page." sounds like a conflict of interest to me. Edwardx (talk) 11:21, 16 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Some of your language is very similar to that of OperaBalletGirl (talk · contribs), who has also edited the Evan McKie article. If you are the same person, please only use one account. Tacyarg (talk)

Hello, Mihi Credite, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia, such as OperaBalletGirl (talk · contribs). Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who misuse multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please disclose these connections. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 10:41, 25 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Ok. Thank you for bringing this up. Although our similarities are not nearly as similar as those who keep trying to edit and ravage thus subject’s profile, I understand that it may seem like those of us who are actual experts on the subject and on ballet in general may seem like we "know eachother”. This person is talented and it is hard to understand why his/her biography is constantly being edited in ways that appear very angry and unsupportive. Your edits are also unsupported by the many citations thar have been added and which have been deleted by you and others. My question is "why all the hate?". It apoears bigoted. If the facts were hard to find, I may understand. However the facts about this subject are everywhere. You appear to know the subject or in some way be biased. This posse even removed the subject’s Schooling & teachers when there are are many articls that are cited. It’s difficult to understand why you are doing that. Blocked as a sockpuppet

edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts as a sockpuppet of User:OperaBalletGirl per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/OperaBalletGirl. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Vanamonde93 (talk) 15:00, 31 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hello-
Please unblock. This page has been targeted and it’s not hard to see by the types of changes that have been made to every section with often large chunks and pertinent information about the subject being removed for no specific reasons. and then libellous accusations about "sockpuppet investigations", and editors who write like other editors?
Not to mention, when certain people have been busy-bodying and blocking, this subject’s Biography has been utterly butchered, littered with mistakes as recently as yesterday’s claim that the subject reached the highest rank of dancer 10 years before they actually were. The problem is that these facts were all laid out properly & cited in previous iterations and in neutral language. So why is this particular Article being changed so frequently with specific omissions of important facts (Schools, Companies, Awards, Role Catalogue & even job title!). And why are clearly incorrect facts being added? This goes against everything Wikipedia is and can lead to serious consequences, as you may know. What do you suggest? Implanting errors, omitting facts and then making libellous accusations about the accounts that attempt to turn this page back into an Article that reflects cited truths and important facts, is illegal.
If you have any tips about those damaging the page and the credibility of the subject, please let me know. This has to stop. Also, please do unblock me since statements & accusations that led to blocking are not accurate or acceptable. This is the last time I will ask. Mihi Credite (talk) 08:06, 4 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Your recent edits could give Wikipedia contributors the impression that you may consider legal or other "off-wiki" action against them, or against Wikipedia itself. Please note that making such threats on Wikipedia is strictly prohibited under Wikipedia's policies on legal threats and civility. Users who make such threats may be blocked. If you have a dispute with the content of any page on Wikipedia, please follow the proper channels for dispute resolution. Please be sure to comment on content, not contributors, and where possible make specific suggestions for changes supported by reliable independent sources and focusing especially on verifiable errors of fact. No threats have been made or hinted at but reckless and highly inappropriate edits to this particular article have been made frequently over the last 6 months. Embedding false, poorly researched information into a subject’s Biography on Wikipedia (repeatedly) can cause damage to the subject’s career, reputation and livelihood. That is an offence. Obviously you understand that there have been cases that required litigation and that some matters are legal and some not. Either way, mobbing and inserting libel into a subject’s page is highly unethical. You can keep blocking, suspending and trying to belittle fact-checkers as you have done, but I believe there are more amicable ways of dealing with those who want to keep the level of editing-integrity up. As of today, there is STILL incorrect information in the Article. Mihi Credite (talk) 19:17, 4 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
You continue with veiled legal threats and say there is "incorrect information in the Article" but don't say what, which is not helpful. Theroadislong (talk) 19:31, 4 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
