Mihai, please see my comment, more or less addresed to you, in Talk:Romania during World War II. -- Jmabel 21:48, 13 Jan 2004 (UTC) --- & similarly, this time in Talk:National awakening of Romania; Vasile & I are clearly not going to agree, and it seems that my offer to simply let him delete the relevant sentence is not ending the discussion. -- Jmabel 21:49, Jun 4, 2004 (UTC)

Romanian Revolution of 1989 edit

Could I ask you to look in on User:Ratza's recent changes to Romanian Revolution of 1989 and Nicolae Ceausescu? Frankly, it looks to me mostly like conspiracy-theory stuff, but he seems to have at least some documentation (the quality of which I cannot easily judge). I've marked the article as disputed, and for now, I'm not cleaning up his English, because I'd rather have it stick out like a sore thumb, but some attention to it would be welcome. Judging by User_talk:Criztu, Criztu seems to think he is right, but I'm not sure what that is worth: he seems now to be standing up for some views that contradict things he himself said in the past. I've also dropped a message for User:Bogdangiusca. I trust your and Bogdan's opinions and scholarship, so I'd really hope you weigh in. -- Jmabel | Talk 23:01, Nov 22, 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for your support on Talk:Nicolae Ceausescu. I feel like, having waved the flag, I should leave the sorting out of what is and is not credible to others: I'm not Romanian, I read the Romanian language moderately well but I don't follow the unfolding of either the historical research or the Romanian press on a continuing basis, etc. I'll definitely try to help with the "Englishing" of the wording once there is something more like a consensus version. I keep being told I'm a foreigner and I don't understand (e.g. "Looks like you are an extra-terester to the romanian system and 1989 events"). But if you think there is any way I can be helpful, please let me know.
User:Ratza chews me out for writing about things where I wasn't... -- Jmabel | Talk 00:03, Nov 26, 2004 (UTC)

Joe, I apreciate very much your contribution to romanian related articles, not only about history. Sometimes romanians are better informed than you, but for sure you proved that you know and understand a lot and (very important) that you are impartial and objective. MihaiC 22:38, 28 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Thank you for invitation, but I am awfully short on time. I will take a look from time to time.MihaiC 08:31, 22 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Republic of Moldova edit

Could you please have a look at Republic of Moldova and at my comments in Talk:Republic of Moldova? We seem to have a very persistent anonymous irredentist who keeps adding non-encyclopedic material to the article (and accuses me of being anti-Romanian if I revert it) and Serhiodudnic who, while at least not adding junk, seems to want to kill any suggestion that Romania and Moldova have more in common than a border. I'm way too busy these days to fight this out. I've made my views clear on the talk page; I could really use some backup from other people who are relatively evenhanded on this matter. -- Jmabel | Talk 07:12, 24 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Lăutari edit

When you get a chance, could you take a look at Lupu's recent edits to Lăutari and his remarks on the talk page? This is a topic where, while not clueless, I am certainly not expert. I am suspicious of what seems to amount to a claim of "the Gypsies have no musical culture of their own", and his strident, argumentative tone on the talk page certainly does not increase my confidence that he actually knows his stuff. -- Jmabel | Talk 07:48, 10 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Translation help? edit

Hi! I've been trying to add more information to Golubac fortress, but one aspect that's come up, a stone right over the border in Romania known as Babakaj, seems like it could be better off with its own article. I was wondering if you'd have the time to translate (or summarize, since I realize the page is a bit long for an all-out translation) this page I found. Thanks! -Bbik 08:39, 8 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, that would explain why I couldn't even find a resemblance to other romance languages. Apparently domains lie about more than just English pages. Thanks for letting me know! -Bbik 08:56, 11 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
No, they were right. It is a Romanian page, just that was created by Hungarians living in Romania (there is a strong minority living mostly in the middle of Romania).MihaiC 09:16, 11 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
