Speedy deletion nomination of PLUS Markets Group edit

PLUS Markets Group has been tagged for speedy deletion, a process through which unacceptable articles are summarily removed. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. October 2009 edit

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with PLUS Markets Group. Please use the hangon template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 23:02, 2 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of PLUS Markets Group edit

A tag has been placed on PLUS Markets Group requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.

Request reason:

I spent several hours in am honest attempt to edit and bring Wikepedia PLUS Markets page relevant and up to date as it is now a registered UK Stock Market under MIFIDD. This was after I had conducted detailed and meticulous research over several weeks. I therefore request that the block is removed.

Decline reason:

All you've done is promote "PLUS Markets"; and the article you wrote was almost entirely lifted from www.plusmarketsgroup.com/PLUS_about.shtml. So, no. --jpgordon::==( o ) 23:44, 7 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Request reason:

My original edit did include information from the PLUS website as I thought that this was factual. I subsequently amended it to remove any "promotion" and to make it encyclopaedic.

I am aged 64 and thought that I could simply cut and paste edits. During this process I mistakenly removed tags and, at the time, did not realise the consequences. I then spent several more hours re-drafting my submission to include relevant up to date information but was prevented from publishing it due to a block.

I have now learned from this experience and apologise for removing the tags. I request that the current permanent block is removed.

Also please help me by editing my revised contribution below as you feel appropriate. Thank you

Decline reason:

Removing the tags isn't the main problem. Looking at your endeavor below, I see multiple problems. The most critical, though, is that it's still cutting-and-pasting. For example, the section entitled "Amara Dhari Investments Limited" is simply copied from [1]. --jpgordon::==( o ) 00:09, 14 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'm moving this out of your unblock request, for readability. I also nulled the categories; user talk pages don't go into the categories. Let me have a look at your circumstances. UltraExactZZ Claims ~ Evidence 13:23, 13 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

It looks like you were blocked on 2 October due to the fact that, by appearances, your account was being used exclusively to promote PLUS Markets on several articles related to securities exchanges. Some good reading can be found at WP:PROMO, which discusses how to write about your topic without violating our policies. Please review that and discuss here how you plan to edit within policy. Thanks, UltraExactZZ Claims ~ Evidence 13:29, 13 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I made my amendments to reflect the factual position of PLUS Markets. It is a NEW Stock Exchange regulated in the UK. Being new, Wikipedia had little or no relevant information. My amendments did not seek to "promote it" but to include it in the encyclopaedia with information that is in the public domain. My draft followed the layout of Alternative Investment Market (AIM) as shown on Wikipedia. AIM is a trading arm of the London Stock Exchange whereas PLUS Markets is a Stock Market in its own right but regarded as comparable. Please note that I am NOT the author of the original section pertaining to Amara Investments. I noticed that the original referred to a meeting that had taken place and therefore I made very minor amendments to reflect the fact that the meeting had taken place and that the resolutions referred to in the original section had been agreed. Following your advice, I have edited my draft again to remove the entire Amara Investments section. I have done this as I see that the original (that I did not write) could be construed as promotional. I have included a small reference to Amara in the 2009 timeline as this is relevant to PLUS Markets history. I believe that my draft is now constructive, unbiased and factual. Please can you agree publication?

Decline reason:

Since you're blocked because your only interest in Wikipedia is promoting this one company, asking for an unblock so you can write about this company isn't that useful. In addition, your proposed changes only cites one independent source. Don't worry; if this new stock exchange is notable, it's inevitable that people will create an article about it. Request reason:

Please let me elude to the reason for the block. I was attempting to correct a fundamental error in that the PLUS Markets page should be headed "PLUS Markets Group", this being the correct legal entity. To do this I copied the "PLUS markets" page across to a new page “PLUS Markets Group” that I had created. I then added factual information in the public domain. I did make a mistake in copying across text from a web page produced by PLUS markets as this was succinct. I cut and pasted my revised text but inadvertently removed a speedy deletion tags that had meanwhile been added to the original page. I was in the process of correcting some minor errors that I missed in preview but meanwhile Blueboy96 had banned me permanently. I emailed Blueboy96 to resolve the issue but so far have not received a reply. Turning to the comments made by FisherQueen "your only interest in Wikipedia is promoting this one company". I regard this as an assumption, presuming that I only having one interest. My other interests include 8bit computing in the UK; technical innovations and its impact on humanity; recreational vehicles; space exploration and poetry. Moreover it is against Wikipedia Assume Good Faith 2 "In addition, your proposed changes only cites one independent source" FisherQueen was not specific telling me exactly where citations are required. I am able to cite many independant sources if FisherQuedd had added "citation needed" tags to my draft. I have however taken this on board and revised my draft and added the following References to the foot of my draft page: - PLUS Markets Case Study 3 Amara Investments 4 “it's inevitable that people will create an article about it” As I stated earlier, the article has already been created but under an incorrect page heading Plus Markets. My intention was once "PLUS Markets Goup" was on Wikipedia to the request the deletion or merger of Plus Markets as it title is technically incorrect. I hope this now clarifies the position. Wikipedia is "The Free Encyclopedia" and I fully support its aims and objectives. This is why I have asked for unblock. Microtan (talk) 13:57, 17 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

You still do not seem to understand why you have been blocked. You're blocked for creating spam/advertising pages to promote a single entity, "PLUS Markets Group". -FASTILY (TALK) 23:07, 17 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
