Hey Girl edit

Just a FYI - I'm starting to really like this Wiki stuff. Am going to contribute to Push_technology. I also decided to tag a page for speedy. Bullish eh? SB a good learning experience. Anyways, thanks for your previous assistance again! - cheers - GaryECampbell (talk) 09:00, 2 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • I acknowledged a WP:COI on the PictureTalk nomination for Afd in conjunction to your posting. Their spamming on every single web conferencing topic and on competitor pages (to link their stub) required intervention, it was extreme, ongoing and unnoticed. Prior to nomination, I posted the concerns in the appropriate area and requested advice and comments. In the future, if the article is related to my marketplace, I will acknowledge such in the initial request. I know you are fairly new to this as well, but more experienced than myself, are there any other policies that come to mind that I should read ? - cheers - GaryECampbell (talk) 15:59, 3 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fine, comrade Gary. Dont worry too much. You never did answer my question about how WebTrain could help me broadcast. CindyTalk 00:45, 4 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

July 2008 edit

  Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to Edward VIII of the United Kingdom has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thanks.Palpatine of Naboo 03:12, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • I did not vandalise this article where you said I did.. Someone else added that line then I edited it then I edited to include a (") that I forgot to add. see this revision for proof. I edited an old revision of the article, causing the vandalism to be reverted back in. CindyAbout/T/P/C/ 03:17, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
    • I apologize. An IP removed it here and it seems you saved it again by accident when there was an edit conflict. — Palpatine of Naboo 03:25, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

"SnoutBusters"? edit

Hi there. I'm sorry to say that this article looks like a hoax to me. It'll have to be deleted unless you have some Russian-language sources... Esn (talk) 02:46, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well, you're not giving me much to go on. How can anyone expand it when there is no place to start searching? There is no verifiable information in the article, not even vague rumours on an obscure site... Esn (talk) 03:11, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I found this on a Google-cached version of this page (that's you posting, I assume):

"SnoutBusters is a movie planned to be made in russia. The information gathered about the movie was taken from a source that has since deleted the information, do we:

   * Remove the article.
   * Find a new source.
   * Remove uncited claims.
   * Leave it.

Cindy Flynn (talk) 06:33, 25 June 2008 (UTC)"

Do you remember what was the source that has since deleted the information? The Internet Archive might have the old version on record. Esn (talk) 16:27, 8 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of German Reconstruction (disambiguation). edit

A tag has been placed on German Reconstruction (disambiguation)., requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

What other German reconstructions are being disambiguated against?

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Slashme (talk) 05:41, 10 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sorry - bit of a hair trigger on the old revert there. Sheer coincidence that I happened to check the watchlist so soon after you'd edited. Thanks for the note. Orpheus (talk) 08:59, 16 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image copyright edit

Please do not upload images from the Internet and claim them as your own work. Blatant copyright violations have to be deleted from Wikipedia. (ESkog)(Talk) 21:41, 18 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Excuse me? All the pictures I upload are taken by me, or are claimed as fair use! Where is this "copyright violation" your telling me about? CindyAbout/T/P/C/ 21:44, 18 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Some examples:
All of these images, and the other I deleted, had been tagged as your own work and purported to be released to the public domain. (ESkog)(Talk) 21:48, 18 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I understand your issues, but.

While I did make some mistakes reguarding copyright [bad place to make mistakes] most of these images are perfectly legitimate. CindyAbout/T/P/C/ 22:12, 18 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

When images are published in newspapers, they are not automatically public domain. Do you have any communication with William Townsend indicating that he has released his images? (ESkog)(Talk) 22:23, 18 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Jim Flynn edit

I think the article would survive an AfD, actually. And you did a good job cleaning up a lot of it - but it still reads like a fan essay on him - lots of first-name usage, extraneous information that impeaches the privacy of non-notables and/or doesn't speak to Flynn's expertise, and adds weight to a piece that - in speaking to his notable accomplishments - really isn't that much. |EBY| (talk) 04:04, 20 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

SmackBot edit

You're bot is undoing my hard work (here) over and over. When I write an article, I format it properly. What I have done is set it like: [[Human|Humans]] to display the word "Humans" while linking to the article "Human." It continuously reverts my edits to format it as such: [[Human]]s. The result is a half-hyperlinked word. CindyAbout/T/P/C/ 02:28, 11 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Humans - Humans they both display and link the same way. Rich Farmbrough, 02:42 11 August 2008 (GMT).

Reason for page move edit

You seem to have moved Cooking with cannabis to Cannabis in Culinary Arts. It is normal to seek consensus prior to moving a page. Typically this is done on the talk page of the article concerned.

I feel the title you have used is inappropriate and given the option I would have objected prior to the move. In addition it breaks naming conventions.

I suggest you reinstate the original name and set up a discussion on the talk page so we can find a name we all agree on. simonthebold (talk) 13:38, 26 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Homosexuality article edit

I put a pointer to the draft for the homosexuality article so that you and others can work through it before finding a place for it on the page. It is at Draft of edit for Homosexuality article.

Here is the criticism of it so far, which should be addressed. Others, including myself, will probably help.

  • wrong section, needs to be more concise, neutrality issues
  • A few flaws in presentation;
  • The problems were multiple. The writing was sloppy, sweeping generalizations were made, at least some of the conclusions drawn were almost certainly beyond what was supported by the sources, some of the studies were really old, some of the wording came across as scare tactics, and, perhaps most importantly, the level of detail, perhaps even the topic itself, doesn't doesn't lend itself to inclusion in a general article on homosexuality. Anal sex, maybe—not homosexuality. Here, it is way peripheral. As was pointed out recently on this page, heterosexual behavior is also associated with various health problems. So what, I ask. We're an encyclopedia, not a catalog of worst-case scenarios for various populations.

I have nominated Brian Wardwell, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Brian Wardwell. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
