About the images you uploaded

edit

Please do not re-upload copyrighted images to Wikipedia. You do not have the rights to release them under the GFDL. (ESkog)(Talk) 19:02, 21 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

This is your final warning. If you continue to upload apparently-copyrighted images without explanation, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. (ESkog)(Talk) 18:15, 22 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
At the bottom of both pages you have sent me appears the standard notice, that the images are all copyrighted by the Regents of the University of Michigan. I've forwarded your concern to some people who know more about what exactly needs to be done for you to be able to release the images. (ESkog)(Talk) 19:23, 22 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
The trick is that we need someone who represents the Board of Regents to agree to release those images under the GFDL, which they may or may not want to do. Posting the image under that license requires that they give us the right to allow others to use them for profit, and to modify the images without restriction - many people won't necessarily do that. I'd recommend you hold off on uploading any images, and we'll wait until we hear from someone who knows more than I do about this kind of thing. (ESkog)(Talk) 19:57, 22 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi Michiganmd. You may want to follow the procedures at When permission is confirmed. -- Jreferee (Talk) 18:33, 23 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
