That said, I still don't know that this company is any more notable than dozens of property-owning companies throughout the United States, such that it should have an article in a general reference encyclopedia. The sources you cited are all trade publications and not general news sources. While the article would not be subject to *speedy* deletion (WP:CSD) if you were to repost it, I think there is a good chance that it would get tagged for a deletion discussion at WP:AFD. Zumba

It still seems like advertising/PR, particularly "Zumba workout provides long-term fitness benefits" and the section on all the Zumba subtypes, complete with trademark notices. See WP:NPOV and WP:SPAM. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:30, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

I agree somewhat with NawlinWiki... but I do think it's pretty good for a first article and I'm glad to see you're working on it in userspace and getting feedback before making it live. I get the impression you're used to writing PR or marketing copy. Encyclopedic writing has a totally different tone that can sometimes be a hard transition for folks used to writing ad copy. You do have excellent referencing though and the subject appears notable. Some things to consider in addition to the links provided by NawlinWiki:

• The sentence about working with Shakira should be referenced.
• All trademark and registermark symbols should be removed (they're not in accordance with our manual of style).

It seems like we already have a short article about Zumba [1]. Are you planning on expanding it with your new text? <>Multi‑Xfer<> (talk) 06:41, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

Hi Michelle, I had a look and you seem to be getting the hang of it. I saw plenty of ways to improve it, so I went ahead and made some changes. The section about the DVDs seemed kind of spammy still, so I deleted it (the article already mentions the DVDs before that anyway). Otherwise, I mostly just moved stuff around, increased the size of sections versus having many small sections, and did some copyediting. It looks pretty good to me right now, NW may have other opinions though. <>Multi‑Xfer<> (talk) 08:06, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

Beto is fine. Just remember that here is an existing article (although it is short) so you'll have to incorporate this into the existing text rather than creating a separate article. The existing article may have some useful references as well. If you take care of the incorporation in your sandbox you could probably just replace the existing text with what you have. <>Multi‑Xfer<> (talk) 18:23, 24 March 2010 (UTC)

Please note that just changing a few words from text you find on a website is still a copyright violation. And some of the copyvio I found was cited to Readers Digest, which didn't even mention some of the material it was supposedly the source for. Lewis the Duck

Hi Michelle,

I think that the first and last paragraphs are OK, especially given the citation to USA Today. The two middle paragraphs, about the children's books, don't appear to be especially notable, and seem like they are promotional.
