Speedy deletion of Green technology alliance edit

A tag has been placed on Green technology alliance, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. RayAYang (talk) 21:05, 17 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Green Technology Alliance edit

Hi Michelle,

The reason your article was deleted was because there is a copyright tag on the source that your article was copied and pasted from. I'm not sure you fully understand the ramification of releasing the information under the GFDL. Nevertheless, even if it were not copyright violation, I'm not entirely sure this organization would meet our criteria for inclusion for corporations here: WP:CORP. And lastly, there is a conflict of interests in you, the CEO of this organization, creating the article for it. All that being said, I have emailed you the contents of the article. Please review the guidelines I've linked above before re-introducing it. –xeno (talk) 17:05, 19 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

As for the links you added in other articles, please see our policy on external links here: WP:EL and a related guideline here: WP:LINKSPAM. –xeno (talk) 17:11, 19 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
I'm still not sure that the Green Technology Alliance would qualify for inclusion based on the primary criterion at WP:CORP. A Google news search turned up only 1 hit: http://news.google.ca/news?hl=en&q=%22green%20technology%20alliance%22&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wn, a press release which does not qualify to establish notability. A regular Google search turned up mostly primary sources and blogs which won't help either. If you want to provide me with a few links that you think would establish the notability for this company, I can take a look, but at the present time it appears to be too new to satisfy inclusion criteria. As for your concerns about the different types of green technology and categories and such, I think the best thing for you to do would be to join the Environment WikiProject and discuss these proposed improvements at WT:ENV for assistance in making it happen. –xeno (talk) 17:52, 19 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
